Wake up, eat, learn, eat, sleep. This was Izuku's life for a year and a half. Barely any off time or personal time just learning. He has made his way through his office work schooling and has began his life on the field schooling under Colonel Mustang. Mustang while at home is a lot more loose and joking but on the fields of battle he is a lot more serious and has plenty of trauma to back it. Izuku at the moment is posted with the Colonel in a defensive city by the sea called Valentin. Half the city was lost to foreign invaded from Japan. Not much is known about the group other than that they have what they Japanese call quirks. Many lives have already been lost on these fields and the surrendering of the city is looking to be imminent. With all the added stress of the battle Izuku has been loosing sleep.

The Colonel has been trying to keep Izuku out of the battle and using his mind as more of a strategical weapon than a literal one but those hopes are too dying out. We now return to the present as Colonel Mustang is waking Izuku from his rest.

Colonel Mustang: Private Elric wake your ass up! You were supposed to be at your post 3 minutes ago! I know you haven't gotten much rest but you still have to get to your posts!

Izuku: I'm sorry Colonel! It won't happen again!

Colonel Mustang: Good now get dressed and move your ass! The enemy hasn't moved yet and we don't know what there planning so be careful today.

Mustang then left the make shift barracks that have been put up in a school yard to give Izuku some privacy.

Colonel Mustang: Also come find me at the range when your post ends. We need to improve your alchemy and your fire arms handling.

Izuku: Roger that!

Izuku marched down the mud stained street to the building which housed his post to see his comrades already working on the next plane of attack.

Captain Boris: Great for you to join us Private. With the Colonel as your supervisor I would have expected you to be on time.

Izuku: Please excuse me for being tardy today Captain.

Captain Boris: It's fine but don't be late again. Remember this is a war. If you aren't here on time many lives could be lost.

Izuku: Understood Captain. It won't happen again.

With that they set to work on designing new plans of attack whilst also trying to figure out what might the enemy be planning. The is the second city that has been invaded on the beaches along the Sea of Japan. Along with strategizing they were trying to figure out if this was the same group that attacked the first city or if these two events were two separate groups. They were looking through there strategies when Colonel Mustang came in to grab Izuku.

Colonel Mustang: Aleight Private Elric I've waited long enough. Your post has ended 12 minutes ago. You still need your training so come on.

With that, Mustang drags Izuku by the back of his vest and pulls him to the sloppily put together range. There were some wooden pallets against a wall that can have targets stapled to them.

Izuku: Why do we even have a range? It doesn't make sense to have one out in a battlefield?

Colonel Mustang: How old are you?

Izuku: I'm 14 sir.

Colonel Mustang: That's the reason right there. We have the youngest soldiers of any country starting at the age of 14 due to our size and being in a constant war with everyone. A lot of these kids have no shooting experience so we have these quickly put together ranges to give them some practice. Now then instead of wasting our time get to shooting. I want you to have half your shot hit within the 8 points or you g again.

Izuku: Yes sir!

Izuku then spent the next 30 minutes firing shots and collecting his brass to be reused. In-between mags Roy would give him directions to make his shots more accurate and precise.

Izuku: Colonel I know why we have the range but I'm an Alchemist like you. Why do I need to learn to use a gun?

Colonel Mustang: Well you see, Alchemy takes time to change the elements into what we want. So me using my fire takes a few seconds longer than someone firing a gun. So for crowds my alchemy works wonders but I will always have a pistol on me for emergencies.

Izuku: Okay but I can just clap and change the floor into whatever I want?

Colonel Mustang: And? As soon as they see you go to the ground the enemy shoots to kill. Inside our cities alchemy is a lot more efficient due to our gun control but our on the battle field it has some tactical advantage but not much.

Izuku: Oh. Well good thing I'm not part of the infantry. I would have been dead ages ago.

Colonel Mustang: Damn straight.

With that Roy brought Izuku back to his barracks for the night and went to contact the capital.

Communication officer 1 (CO): Good evening Colonel what line do you need?

Colonel Mustang: I need the line to the capital. Any of the booths will do.

CO 1: Will do one second you may wait in the booth.

Roy walked to the both and waited for the phone to give the signal that it was connected.

*click* Colonel Mustang: Hello this is Colonel Mustang is this the Moscow?

CO 2: This is Moscow heading you loudly what do you need?

Colonel Mustang: We're going to need reinforcements of any kind to help with this fight. The enemy has made to much ground to hold out with the current number of troops.

CO 2: Okay! I just sent a messenger to the Fuher to get an okay. Hav you identified the enemy yet?

Colonel Mustang: No. it appears that the enemy has both guns and what might be quirks so it's a possibility that it could be the Japanese.

CO 2: Okay. The Fuher will be notified shortly of this information. I will contact the CO at your out post when we get word back.

Colonel Mustang: Thank you soldier.*click* CO 1 keep an eye out for a cal from the capital. I asked for reinforcements and am now awaiting a reply.

CO 1: It will be my top priority!

Colonel Mustang: Good now I'm going to get a much need drink.

With that Roy heads off to his personal tent to drink and sleep through the night fire going overhead.
