''Aaa I feel like eating some ramen, what about you guys ?'' It was after a job when Tachihara suggested to get ramen for lunch. Gin merely nodded while Hirotsu replied. ''I'm fine with that, what about you, Chuuya-san ?'' Chuuya shook his head. ''I'm going to the hospital ,'' Tachihara grunted softly. ''Again ? It's been sooo long, will he really wake up ?'' Both Hirotsu and Gin stared him.

Oh no.

They wouldn't be surprised if Chuuya activated his ability and sent Tachihara to space, but instead, Chuuya walked away in silence, like he didn't hear anything Tachihara had said.

''Hey... do you remember when we were sixteen ? You almost died trying to save me, and you had been in a coma for two weeks. You broke the record this time, five months... it's been five months, sleepyhead ,'' Chuuya stared at his brunet lying on the bed. He looked peaceful, like a sleeping beauty.

*FLASHBACK*

''It's been sooo long, will he really wake up ?''

*PRESENT*

Chuuya forced a smile. ''You said that you wanna try out that seafood restaurant in Hiroshima right ? I'll bring you there, and travelling, the four of us, you said you wanna do that right ? I'll take leave, let's go see the fireworks in China...'' His voice started shaking. ''So please...'' He took Dazai's hand in his and held it before his chest as he begged. ''Please... wake up... come back...''

Five months, how long will it take after these five months ? Will it be a year ? Will it be five years ? Will it be forever... ?

''You know, Haruka's been waiting for you to tell her bedtime stories. She always asks me to read her the first story book you've ever read for her, you know what that means, right ?'' Then Chuuya's phone rang, he pulled himself together before answering it. It was the school, requesting to meet Haruka's guardian. ''It seems that Haruka got herself in trouble ,'' He smiled a little. ''I'll come again tomorrow .''

His eyes widened as he turned to look at the little girl sitting beside him. ''You hit someone ??'' Haruka pouted and looked away, then the teacher spoke. ''Mei-chan, the girl she hit has called her parents. Fortunately her mother understood it was her daughter whom started the fight, so she's not going to make this matter any more serious nor complicated ,'' She added. ''Nakahara-san, it's my daughter's fault, I'm sorry for everything she's done to Haruka-chan ,'' A woman standing by a wall near the entrance spoke.

Chuuya looked at Haruka. She was still looking away, so he couldn't see her countenance. ''It's fine ,'' He shifted his gaze to the girl standing beside the woman. ''But if you do anything to Haruka again, naughty kids get punishments you know ?'' Chuuya had a smile on his face, but his eyes had that Port Mafia hostility, which made the girl weasel out and hide behind her mother. ''Ah Mei won't make the same mistakes, I promise ,'' Mei's mother laughed nervously as she bowed. ''Sorry ,''

As soon as they reached home, Haruka went straight under her blanket. Chuuya sat on the bed side and tried to lift the blanket up, but Haruka held the edge tight. ''Haruk--'' He heard soft sobbing. ''Haruka, what happened ?'' He tried lifting up the blanket again. This time, Haruka wasn't pulling the edge anymore. Once he lifted the blanket, Haruka hugged him and wailed. Haku walked in, he heard his sister crying.

Chuuya stroked her head. ''It's okay, tell me, what happened ? What did she do to you ?'' Haruka calmed down a little as she pointed at her school bag. Haku opened it to look. ''Papa...'' Chuuya turned to look, it was the blue bunny plushie in his hand, the one given by Dazai when they first went to a theme park together, except that it's torn. ''I miss Daddy ! When will he wake up ?! When will he come home ?!'' Haruka cried loudly.

She looked up at Chuuya with her watery eyes. Her hazel eyes were just like Dazai's, reminding Chuuya of every time his brunet looked at him. He missed those eyes of his, those smart and mischievous hazel eyes. ''I don't know... I don't know...'' Chuuya felt it too, the sadness, so did Haku. After all this time, the chances of Dazai waking up became smaller and smaller. They haven't given up, but time was really pummeling their spirit with enmity.

After making sure that the kids had fallen asleep, Chuuya went into the bedroom, but he didn't go for the bed. Instead, he leaned against the closed door behind him. He sat down, his back slowly sliding against the door, his face buried behind his knees, his arms hugging them. Tears rolled down his cheeks, it dripped onto the floor.

It's the first time he's ever cried since that day. He's been strong, because he believed that Dazai would wake up, because the kids needed him to be strong. But it was a brutal fact, that the doctor basically told them that they had already lost him, they just didn't want to accept it, they believed that the doctor was wrong, that what the doctor called ''miracle'' would happen. That's what hope is, it saves people from misery, yet brings them pain as time goes by.

Please wake up... please... please...

He was trapped in his own mind, praying to god, any god in existence, to bring his brunet back to him. It's been five months since the last time he had his brunet accompany him during his sleep, sitting beside him reading his suicide manual, holding his hand in his. It's been five months since those soft hazel eyes stared at him in the morning, the first thing he would see every day. It's been five months since someone responded when he called that name, the name ''Dazai''. He really missed him, as Dazai meant more than the world to him. All he wanted was to feel it again, the feeling when he's with his brunet. That night, Chuuya did sleep, with his pillow wet with tears and sheets crumbled at his pained grip.
