Freya and Mia had given up.

Laying a pool of Missy's blood, they refused to give up another person.

They had cried all the tears they had in them.

They were left with only the pain of their sore throats and throbbing knees from their previous fight to let them know they were still alive.

Mentally, they were gone.

But physically, they were still in a perfect condition to survive the next torturous event to come.

With no energy to move, or even speak, they stayed silent.

Still and silent.

Dead to the world around them as they disassociated from the real-life horrors that had happened, praying to the gods they didn't believe in for mercy and hope; to give them the strength to get through the rest of the night.

"I- I don't even know what to say anymore." Freya croaked.

They had been laying there for about ten minutes after the masked figure left, just staring into space as they tried to comprehend what had happened. Freya was brave enough to break the silence now, not wanting to speak as she knew it would just lead to their next challenge of the night, despite them knowing they had to go through it in order to get out.

"Neither. I just, I just wish we never even went to that party in the first place. We should've listened to Missy and Emma. We should've actually used our brains for once. I wanted to be here, and now I'm the one begging for God to take me before they do. All while three of our best friends lay dead on the floors of this house somewhere. We forced them to come, and they paid for it with their lives." Mia spoke, gazing out into the open space as she felt the guilt building up inside of her, wrapping itself around her mind and trapping any form of positive thoughts from escaping.

"Mia please don't blame yourself." Freya said, scooting over to sit next to her and pulling her into a hug.

"I miss Missy's hugs and her comforting speeches, I miss Emma's smart way of thinking and sensibility, and I miss Gabi's humour and the way she could just all make us smile despite the fact she was more stressed than all of us." Mia spoke into Freya's arms as they both embraced each other tightly, being the only two left.

"They're probably laughing at how stupid we are right now. Probably sitting in golden thrones with popcorn wondering how we're going to escape together." Freya said, laughing softly to try and ease the aching pain in their hearts right now.

"No, they better be waiting for me in hell. I'm the devil's daughter, they ain't got room for me up in heaven. I'd get kicked out just off the fact I imagined our kidnapper was hot when we first arrived." Mia exclaimed, making both girls share a moment of laughter.

They fell into a silence. Just holding one another in their arms. They stared into space and zoned out. No one spoke. No one moved. No one wanted to. They just wanted a moment to pretend everything was ok and like their entire world wasn't falling apart.

After a moment, Mia spoke once again. "I'm sorry." She had a sad expression displayed on her face as she looked down at the floor.

"What for?" Freya asked, looking down at her with confusion.

"I just, you never would've come if I didn't force you to, and now look at us. We're all paying for my mistake with death." She spoke, pushing away from Freya so she could stand up.

"Mia, I said don't blame yourself, we all wanted to come in the end so don't even try to pin the blame on yourself!" Freya raised her voice slightly, standing up to face the girl.
