08 { congrats, it's a secret lab experiment! }
Since they no longer have a civilian to watch after or missing-nins to chat with, Team Seven can pick up the pace when returning home. Azami easily keeps up, sometimes performing flips as she jumps from branch to branch. It had, rather inevitably Kakashi thinks now, inspired Naruto to try the same. Which, and he is starting to see a pattern, bolstered Sasuke to try and outdo the both of them. This, and it's really no surprise, inspired Sakura to cheer Sasuke on from the sidelines, often berating Naruto if he did something ridiculous or dangerous.
Azami taunted all three with a smile and by picking up the speed.
Kakashi can't really tell if that was her plan all along because they have made some amazing progress for a bunch of genin. They should reach Konoha in just a few more hours if they keep the same pace. It's good stamina training either way.
"Hey, hey, hey," Azami calls suddenly as she slows to be next to Naruto. The blonde glances over from glaring at Sasuke. "What's it like?"
"Huh? What's what like?" Naruto questions, now fully ignoring Sasuke to look at the small four-year-old. Are four-year-olds supposed to be that small? She reaches around Naruto's hip.
"Konoha!" Azami answers cheerfully. Bouncing excitedly as she moves. "What's it like? I've never been to such a big place before!"
Kakashi can see the exact moment each of his students begin to ponder the question then realize they don't know how to properly answer. He doesn't blame them - they grew up in Konoha. To a native, it's nothing impressive, but to an outsider it'd be like a whole new world.
Azami must have..sensed the same thing, considering she's wearing a blindfold (wouldn't dark glasses or goggles work better? Maybe he should ask Aoba where he got his pair), because she pouts and begins to rapid fire several questions.
Rather unsurprisingly, only Sakura can properly keep up and answer. She's the civilian-born of the team and thus knows a lot more about Konoha's ground work than Sasuke (who hardly interacts with others, much less explores the village) and Naruto (who's a lot more likely to explore but also forget).
At least the two females finally seem to be getting along?
Kakashi feels a shiver down his spine at the thought of Azami taking a liking to Sakura. He doesn't know why, but he has the foreboding feeling that the girl would gleefully do everything to help Sakura be a better shinobi.
He glances behind him at the two and decides that it probably won't even be his problem by the time that should happen. He still doesn't know what the Hokage will make of the small girl, since she's an experiment of Orochimaru.
Well, just a few more hours until then.

Azami lands on the beaten path with a small grunt, distracted by all the chakra signatures she can feel up ahead. Never had she felt so many people in one place before and it's breathtaking. And that's only on the edge of her range! She can't even imagine what it'd be like standing in the middle of it all.
A grin stretches across her face in anticipation. She should probably be more nervous about the next few hours but she can't help it! This is so exciting! Oh, so many new people to meet and she has the chance to meet some of her other favorite characters!
She quickly hurries forward, sticking close to the team while reeling in her senses. She was made and trained to be quickly adaptable but there's so many new things around that it'll be a while until she can feel completely at ease.
