The GTA's engines roared and revved behind the starting line as a girl wearing a checkered crop top, mini skirt, black boots and white beret stepped out from the crowd and walked to the front of the cars. The crowd let out hoots and hollers which made the girl smirk and nod at Raw.
He smirked and typed into the screen of his car. The other driver's phones lit up and all of them checked to see a notification from Raw. Sage opened the notification, and it revealed a map of L.A. along with a set path that led around the city and back to where they were now.
The phone suddenly started to ring, and she answered the call with a curious gaze, seeing that it was a group call with all the racers.
"Alright listen, you inglorious bastards. You should know the rules to a Death Race by now, but I'll say 'em just in case. Rule #1, anything goes. Rule #2, win or die. I hope y'all can remember that, because if you don't..." Raw said to them through the call and he smirked "Say your prayers."
He swiftly ended the call and the girl in front raised her arms to start the race.
Meanwhile, Sharon was dragged off to the boat by one of Raw's goons. She looked back worriedly to see Sage looking at her with a smirk that was coupled with a thumbs up, easing Sharon's worry a bit.
"Ready." The scantily clad girl said as the engines revved harder.
"Set." The girl continued as some of the racers glared forward and others tightened their grip on their steering wheels.
"Go!" The girl exclaimed and the cars' tires screeched as they took off.
Everyone let out cheers and shouts but then stopped in surprise to see that Burnout had not moved.
"What's going on? Why isn't she moving?" One of the people within the crowd asked.
"You think she doesn't know how to drive?" Another suggested and others laughed.
"Burnout is already burnt out before the race even started!" Another exclaimed and the crowd laughed.
Sage ignored them, continuing her study of the map 'These roads are sticking to the outskirts of the city, most likely designed not to draw any unnecessary attention from law enforcement or worse. If Sharon does accomplish her side of the objective, then that means I don't have to abide by the suggested route. I know what I have to do.'
"Hey, Burnout! Move your ass or else-" One of Raw's goons said, approaching her car.
Sage put down her phone and stepped on it, immediately activating the NOS. The car shot forward and past the starting line, speeding down the road and throwing Sage back into her seat from the force. She was reaching a crossroads and she knew the map was telling her to go right, but she turned left.
The car drifted to the left and entered the city, she maneuvered and avoided any oncoming traffic, turning right towards a construction site.
The crowd watched the race in anticipation, seeing the racers overtake each other and even shoot at each other. Some on the other hand noticed Burnout was completely off the path and although near the other racers, she was on the other side of the road.
"Yo boss, I don't know what's with her but Burnout's going crazy." One of his goons said through an earpiece.
"Crazy? Crazy how!?" Raw exclaimed.
Back with Sage, she maneuvered past any construction equipment and drove towards the edge of the construction site which was covered by a dirt mound. She pressed the red button in the car and a missile popped out from the hood. With accurate aim, the missile fired and hit the dirt mound, causing the dirt to explode and fly up in the air.
