ASUKA'S EYES BLEARILY blinked open the following morning, expecting the slightly moldy ceiling of her shared bedroom, and the sounds of gentle snoring coming from the otherside of the room mixed in with that same couple arguing for the umteenth time — the man had been caught cheating on her once again, and came crawling back, just to do it again and again. Their lives was a disturbing form of entertainment for those who lived around them. Asuka practically knew their entire history, and who they were sleeping with behind each other's backs due to the thin walls of their apartment.

But instead of that, she's thankfully met with calm, tranquility and darkness. It was the kind of darkness only an early morning could bring, before the sun would rise to its highest peak. Dawn. It was one of Asuka's favourite parts about staying up all night or waking up early. That blue tinge spilling into the room from the curtains, a world not yet woken up. Peaceful and quiet without humanity's disturbance. So peaceful, in fact, that the woman couldn't help but take in a deep, soothing breath through her nose, and sunk back into her sheets, while she gathered herself and her thoughts as she breathed in the scent of clean linen.

Slowly, she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes with a quiet yawn, allowing herself a moment to take her sweet time in waking up, quite enjoying how comfortable and cozy she felt, until a moment later, her head finally caught up with the realisation that she wasn't actually in her own bed. Nor the thin mattress in the dormitory for that matter. She half expected to hear the musical number blaring through the speakers like an alarm clock, as if her leaving and returning home was only a dream.

When she was finally able to blink herself to complete consciousness, through her sleep hazed vision, she was able to scan her surroundings properly. Momentarily, however, Asuka almost scrambled backwards on the couch, forgetting where she was for a brief moment until her eyes landed on the lump of flesh snuggled beneath a blanket on the bed across from her.

Oh.

All memories of the previous night flooded back in an instant, but the confirmation of where she was didn't stop her heart from racing a mile a minute. This definitely wasn't home. Instead of a bed, she's laying on a couch in a place she barely remembered before she's reminded of the softly sleeping person, and the small studio apartment he resided in. She's pleased, at least, to find Sang-woo wasn't much of a snorer, only the odd deep breath, and toss and turn. Majority of the night he hadn't moved a muscle, contributing pleasantly to the silent tranquility she wasn't all that used to. Despite the uncomfortable couch she slept on, she's surprised she actually felt refreshed, considering she half expected to feel like death warmed up as soon as she opened her eyes.
