"Okay boys, have fun! And don't be out too late!"
"We won't!" The two seven year olds said together as they ran out of the Midoriya household.
It was halloween night, and the sun would soon be disappearing over the horizon. Y/N was staying the night at Izuku's apartment, and the two friends excitedly ran into the hallway of the building, bags in hand, to begin trick or treating.
This was the first time Izuku would be trick or treating without his mother, Inko, by his side the entire way, and so was not keen on the idea at first. But Y/N eventually convinced him, though the deciding factor was really when Inko had told him everything would be okay.
Izuku of course had an All Might costume, not that different from the ones he had worn every other previous Halloween. The only difference being that it was slightly larger in size. Y/N had a cowboy costume. It was the first Halloween costume he ever had. Inko had bought the entire thing for Y/N, at the same time Izuku got his. It came with boots that had spurs, a hat, a bandana, even a holster for a gun. It had everything, and Y/N loved it.
The two knocked on most of the different doors, tending to avoid the ones that had too scary of decorations. Many of the tenants didn't get many trick or treaters on Halloween night, but when they did they made sure to spoil whoever knocked on their door. Some gave out little treat bags filled with all sorts of candy, maybe even a little toy. Others gave out full sized chocolate bars. One sweet old lady handed out homemade candy apples every year.
The boys finally reached the ground floor of the building, and had their bags filled to the brim. It was a bit of a struggle for the little seven year olds to carry them, since they now weighed so much. So they instead opted to drag them along the floor.
"Think about it. Why don't people drag everything instead of carrying them? It makes more sense." Y/N said.
"Yeah! Lets drag our backpacks to school too!" Izuku excitedly proclaimed.
Izuku stopped at the elevator and pressed the button to go up. He had watched his mother do it so many times he learned to do it himself, and he was quite proud of that fact. But Y/N didn't stop. He was walking straight for the doors.
"Y/N? Where are you going?"
"Outside." The boy called back, his bag dropping a candy as it was dragged behind.
"I don't think my Mom wants us to go out there. Let's go back upstairs."
"It'll be fine." Y/N didn't stop.
Izuku left his bag at the elevator and ran to catch up with his friend. They had gotten to the glass door, and the little cowboy reached for the handle.
"But Y/N, it's dark out..."
"Don't worry. Everyone goes outside when it's dark on Halloween. Don't they?"
"I guess so..."
"Let's go, just for a second."
"Okay, but just for a second."
Izuku reluctantly followed his friend, looking around nervously for any signs of trouble. The air had cooled off a lot since they came back from school, and the breeze made it even chillier. Dead leaves rustled across the sidewalk, visible by the lone street light that hung overhead.
"But Y/N, what if there's villains?"
"They should be scared, 'cause they'll have to face the best hero ever!"
Izuku laughed a little. Y/N made a gun shape with his fingers and stuck them into his holster. He heard a bush being blown by the wind, and whipped around as fast as he could, pulling out his guns as he did so.
"And they'll have to deal with me too! The fastest guns in the city!"
"Faster than Snipe?!" Izuku asked in amazement.
"A hundred times faster!" Y/N proudly said.
Izuku laughed, but his smile disappeared into a face of fright. He was looking right at Y/N, no, looking just past Y/N. The cowboy turned around, and he felt a sick feeling in his stomach. Creeping down the sidewalk, just coming into the light of the streetlight, was a clown. Y/N was scared of clowns, really scared of them. Especially the mean ones. This one wasn't dressed like a clown, he had on jeans and a plaid shirt, but he had the most terrifying clown mask Y/N had ever seen.
The clown came closer, and spoke in a clown voice, but it was evil sounding. "Hi kids. Got some candy?"
The two boys didn't say anything, Y/N started to breathe faster, and took a step back.
"Can I have some?"
"N-no." Y/N croaked in a feeble attempt to ward off the scary guy.
"No? You won't share with me? That makes me sad." The clown fake cried. "You know what happens when I get sad?"
The clown took out his hand that was in his pocket, revealing metallic fingernails that came to a point.
Tears started forming in Izuku's eyes, and he looked like he was about to let the water works fall. The clown turned his attention to the boy.
"Did I make All Might cry?" He gasped.
"L-leave him alone." Y/N said.
The clown ignored him, and kept getting closer to Izuku, too close. He started to raise his hand. Y/N had to do something! He couldn't let Izuku get hurt, but he couldn't move! He had to move, he had too!
Y/N lunged at the clown and tackled him onto the concrete. He started smacking him in the face over and over again. The clown tried to shield his face, and it sounded like he was crying for real.
"Y/N come on, we have to get out of here!" Izuku said, pulling on his friend's arm.
Izuku had grabbed the candy bag, and they both ran as fast as they could through the doors and to the elevator. Those doors couldn't open fast enough. The clown would be right behind them! He'd snatch them up any second now! Y/N looked back outside, and he saw the clown standing up. He yanked off his mask, and suddenly he didn't look so scary. He looked to be only a couple years older than the other two, nine maybe. He then stomped off into the night.
The two seven year olds still ran into the elevator and waited for the doors to close, not knowing about the close door button, or thinking to take the stairs. When they got to Izuku's floor they ran for the apartment and each knocked on the door repeatedly.
"Oh there you two are, did you have fun-" Inko said as the two kids ran straight past her, candy falling all over the place.
Once in the safety of Izuku's room they caught their breath, taking glances out of his window to see if the clown was still lurking outside. Once calmed down, they dumped out their candy and began eating probably too much than what seven year olds should be having.
For the rest of the night they watched hero videos, and even added a page in their quirk analysis notebooks titled, "The Clown", complete with over dramatic drawings of his mask. They continued to draw him more and more, each time over emphasizing one part of his body and erupting into laughter. In the end, it was a good night.
