During the hardest days,
when I was hurting more
than I've ever hurt my entire life;
there was no outstretched
hand for me to hold.
All I had was mine, so with it
I write and write and write.
Praying my words would
someday build me a boat
that I can use to get out of the
sea I've been drowning in.
