We grew up learning about different religions, histories and myths. Some of the most popular stories of Mythology is Greek like Heracles, who is also know as Hercules, which by the way the Disney version is so incorrect. Anyways though, so that I don’t ramble on about that, you may have heard of Achilles or Perseus, and even Theseus. Pretty popular myths, but they left out one of the best, well my favorite at least. It’s mentioned in Greek history, but it never reached the big books, because it was apparently not cool enough. So I’m just gonna tell you it my self; my myth and my past. Everyone this is the story of how I came to be here writing this. My story is The Rise of the Hyromorphus, or to others its known as The Sword of Olympus.
Chapter 1
There was once a beautiful virgin mortal named Jasmine. She was desired by many men, and admired by many women. Unfortunately though, she caught the attention of Hades, God of the Underworld. He wanted her as his and so he had her. When his wife Persephone left to spend her time for the summer with her mother Demeter, that’s when Hades took her. He brought her to hell and disguised himself as a handsome Demon. He made love to her, covering her with his filth. Her once pure soul and virgin body was stained by the evil deeds of Hades. Not long after she had a child. She was blessed with the beauty and kindness of her mother, and she had the prettiest strawberry blonde hair and baby blue eyes. Hades did not want his daughter to be sweet and gentle; therefore, he had his good friend Ares, God of war train her.
After years of fierce training and ruthless killing she grew into a woman. As she matured her hair darkened until it turned blood red and her once baby blue eyes became red as flames. They say the blood of her victims stained her hair red and the fire from hell burned in her eyes.
She won many battles, shed lots of blood; she learnt to endure any pain and became as merciless as her father.
Her name was Helanna, daughter of Hades and a Demi-god.
There was another Demi-god born around the same time as Helanna. His name was Salantro, son of Zeus and a mortal named Janna. Growing up he was not aware that he was the son of Zeus or even a Demi-god. Zeus though, wanted his son to be able to defend himself and to become a great hero. To accomplish this he sends his two daughters Athena, Goddess of wisdom and courage; and his other daughter Artemis, Goddess of hunt; to earth, in human form to train Salantro. He became a strong warrior who fought for his loved ones, and was courageous and strong hearted.
Now that you know the basics I’m going to start the story.
Salantro POV
The sound of my sword clashing with another is like music to my ears. The beating hot sun caused drops of sweat to trail down my face and bare torso. My muscles flexed with every attack I make; I made quick movements trying to take down my opponent. I usually never win against my Teacher Athena, but this time I will. I am a grown man now; I’ve been trained since I can walk by my two teachers Artemis and Athena.
My black hair blew in the cold spring breeze, whilst I dodge one of her hits, and turned to kick her. Athena moved her arm up to her side in a defensive position to stop my leg. I knew she would do that, that’s why I put an extra force in my kick and she slammed into the tree beside her.
I stood over her and gazed at her in triumph. Me being the gentleman that I am though offered her a hand, she accepted and stood up. She gave me a nod of approval, in return a cocky grin plastered itself onto my face.
her gaze trailed off behind me, I already know what she’s looking at, her sister Artemis. I can sense her behind me.
“I think he’s ready.” Athena spoke. A cocked my head in confusion at what they were talking about, I spun around to see Artemis nod in agreement.
“What do you mean I am ready?” I asked, glimpsing between my two teachers.
“Come with me Salantro,” she said, and then turned and started walking. Well she didn’t exactly answer my question. But I followed her none the less; wouldn’t want to make her angry.
After minutes of walking, we started to trail along a path of stone stairs. I turned to see Athena quietly trailing behind us.
I wonder what Artemis wishes to show me, whatever it is, it better be important. I could be doing other things like hero stuff or flirting with the young ladies in the village. I’m not a player or anything, I do respect women. I just like to flirt, and if they want more I make it clear that I don’t want a relationship, they never seem to mind.
My train of thought halted as I slammed into Artemis’s back, I muttered a quick apology than glanced up to see the reason for our abrupt stop.
It is a temple, the Temple were we worship the Gods. I giant statue sat in front. Now which God is that? Ares? Poseidon? Apollo? Her- “It’s Zeus.” Athena interrupted me, answering my unspoken question. I looked at her than her sister. “Why am I hear, you know I do not believe in the Gods,” I stated. I’m not exactly happy being here. I never really believed in the Gods. My mother does, but I personally, don’t believe in things I can’t see. It’s not in my nature too.
“Well you should start.” Artemis said, and then continued walking inside. Athena shoved me forward, which in turn I glared but walked inside anyways. I beat her once, but I don’t think I want to try again. She’s fierce and she almost killed several times Thankfully I was born lucky, or I would have been dead along time ago.
I followed my teachers deep inside the temple. Artemis pulled down a hand on one of the statues and a wall started to move. I watched curiously, are they actually doing something cool for once. Am I gonna get to see their awesome secret hideout that they never let me go to. This must be it; I mean a secret entrance, a narrow staircase leading deep underneath the temple. I’m trying my best to contain my excitement, and I am not getting any weird stares so I think I’m fine.
I walked behind them as they went down the stairs. It was dark when we reached the bottom so I took the liberty to light the torch beside me. With my new light I noticed a candle to my left, and like any other normal person would, I lit. The candle instantly lit and the flame sparked, and then burst into flames. I jumped back, startled by the small explosion but then watched amazed as it lit a trail of candles along the wall.
I heard cackling on my right and candles were lighting up too.
Awesome!!
After all the candles were lit I looked around me. Athena and Artemis are staring at me quietly. Okay creepy, moving along… I looked at the many statues and carvings in the wall. I noticed another statue of Zeus but smaller, and several more that I’m guessing are other Gods and Goddesses. I looked forward, and past my teachers to see twelve chairs lined up. The girls turned around and watched the chairs. The furniture started to glow and my eyes widened as lights started to shoot from the roof to the chairs. What the-.
