Numbness creeped and settled in as Alesia looked around to find the work and aftermath of Voldemort and his followers. As Alesia walked through the debris of the courtyard to reach the Great Hall , The site that waited was an unbearable one to see.

There before her lay the bodies of Remus Lupin , Nymphadora Tonks & Fred Weasley.

As she continued to step forward towards the three bodies of her once then-friends, she couldn't bring herself to speak so instead she cried and cried until she couldn't anymore. — after a few moments she finally gathers the strength to ask so faintly while looking down at the ginger boy who lost his life today "what happened?" She was met with deafening silence between The Weasleys , Granger & Potter...until Molly spoke with such pain and heartbreak in her voice " He was helping a first year, he had his back turned, that's when Bellatrix hit him with the killing curse"

As Molly finishes her sentence, Alesia reached over and hugged the boys mother so tight that you could see her fingertips turn white from how hard she was holding her, she whispered a soft "i'm so sorry molly" because that's all she could do, no amount of words , hugs or empathy could get a mother her child back, so the best she could do is just say her sorrys and nothing more.

She pulled away from the short haired ginger woman to express the same empathy and emotion towards the rest of the family, until someone spoke softly and said " Remus and Nymphadora just had teddy .. what will we say to their families.." Alesia looked up to find the source of the voice only to be met with a red blotchy tear-stained face that belonged to Ginny Weasley.

Ginny had nothing left to give, whatever she did have was taken away the moment her brother died. This was the first time Alesia had ever seen her friend cry, not even when Dean Thomas broke up with the girl right before Slughorn's winter dinner party.

It pained Alesia to see once such a happy loving family reduced to nothing but sadness and misery due to the effects of the war.

To the right of Ginny was Ron who was seated by Hermione, The couple were bruised , bloody and covered in dirt, they said nothing but Hermione gave a small warm smile as she tried to comfort her partner.

On the opposite side of Ginny was Harry. His dull eyes stared blankly at the body of Remus lupin. Before she could catch herself, she started walking over to the boy and sitting down next to him. They sat in silence for a moment until Alesia decided to say warmly " Harry, He would've been proud of you" . Harry does nothing but look up and give her a small smile.

Alesia looked around the room and saw the current state of the Hogwarts students and teachers. Each expression was different. it was either tired , sad , relieved or just none at all. Some just sat and stared lifelessly at the floor or wall.

Children having to grieve so young. it wasn't something that anyone wanted to ever happen, yet reality violently settled in and made those around realize the world has no place for children.

Alesia knew that life was selfish and cruel. She knew that, but still that unhomely feeling sat at the bottom of her stomach and made its way up her throat , so many kids had to watch their friends , families and teachers die today.

As she continue to scan the room for a sense of comfort she sees Luna Lovegood & Neville Longbottom sitting quietly together, they always did make a lovely couple Alesia thought to herself.

I guess luna could sense her staring for a while because she then popped her head up and gave a loving smile.

She always had such a kind smile.

As Alesia was deep in her thoughts she didn't hear Professor McGonagall call out and ask her if she needed any medical attention, she still didn't trust to bring herself to speak without choking up so she silently shook her head no and as she did the professor leaned in and gave her a hug. Alesia remained seated silently next to Harry, returning back to her thoughts on how she would ever go back to normal after this. — She lost so many people because of this war. She couldn't bear the thought of losing anyone else. She didn't know if she could handle it anymore.

We are mourning more than we are celebrating, this wasn't supposed to happen. He was supposed to be here with us, all of them should've been. He said he would be safe , he promised me he would return back to me. Of course he had to help someone.. I know that's selfish of me but you just can't help but to be selfish in moments of grief and disbelief.

When you are mourning the loss of a loved one you have to be selfish , that's just how it works. How else will you cope and heal? — you blame others around you and you selfishly make choices to try to erase the relationship you once had with them, only for them to slowly creep back into your mind when your all alone at night to think too yourself and you repeat the pattern.

Alesia wanted nothing more than for her once then lover to return to her and for all this to be a nightmare, she knew deep down in the back of her mind that he wasn't coming back, and she tried to make herself okay with that but how could she be okay with living a life without him?

A piece of everyone died that early, cruel morning of May 2nd, 1998.
