Inhale. Count to 4. Hold. Count to 7. Exhale at 8. Elle repeated the sequence of the breathing exercise she learned when she was younger to calm herself down. There she stood in the semi-empty parking lot during a lacrosse game, following the plan set by her friends. Allison would steal the keys from Gerard by taking his coat and pass it to Stiles, who would break into his office and find the book. If it wasn't there, here comes her part of the plan.

All Eloise had to do was break into Gerard's car.

She stared at her own reflection through the car window, thinking about how terrible it would be if she was caught. Gerard would probably pierce an arrow through her heart. She shook the thought away and pulled out the bobby pin she tucked into her hair.

"Okay, you can do this. You've done it before. You can do it again." She whispered, her breath seen in the air.

The blonde squatted down and broke the pin in half. She jammed one of it into the lock and applied pressure as she pushed it down. Everything went smoothly when the second half of the hairpin was pushed in and wiggled around until it was met with a resistance, a seized pin. She pushed the hairpin further, moving it up and down to force the seized pin open. After several more, the sound of the door clicking open sounded like heaven.

Elle swung the door open and instantly began searching for the bestiary. She checked everywhere; the backseat, in the glove box, even under the seats but it was nowhere to be found. Frustrated, she sat in the driver's seat and shut her eyes as the cold burned the tip of her nose.

"Impressive."

She shrieked loudly, hearing a man outside the car. Her hand flied the closest thing to her, a ball pen in the cup holder to defend herself. She held it up and slowly turned to face the man, only to be met with Derek.

"Don't come closer." She warned the man, gripping her pen tightly. Derek moved closer, crossing his arms as he scoffed.

"Or what? You're gonna stab me with a pen?"

"It's not just a pen. It's a pen full of wolfsbane" She said, swinging the pen through the air, "You're gonna regret ever crossing with me because one stab and you're dead. I'll stab it right into your neck and it'll spread-"

"It's not wolfsbane. If it was, I would've smelled it." He interrupted her rambling, calling her bluff.

"Nu-uh." Elle said, the only thing she could muster up before Derek grabbed her by the arm, dragging her away. She had no idea where he was taking her and she prayed, she prayed to God he wasn't taking her to a secret location to snuff her out.
