It's just another Thursday night, mindlessly putting together Salmon en Papillote for the snobby French guests. I am living my dream, working as a chef in one of Paris' fanciest restaurants 'Le Jules Verne', yet something just isn't right. It's like I'm trapped in a weekly cycle creating the same boring dishes for the same boring rich guests.
This thought was suddenly interrupted when another chef burst through the kitchen doors. I had never seen her before but that doesn't surprise me, I usually worked the lunch shift on Thursdays and was just covering a shift tonight. "Where's Pete?!" the chef called in a thick Russian accent as she crashed through the kitchen. I turn and see Pete huddling in a corner, and a small smirk escaped onto my face. Finally someone's going to put the lazy guy into his place.
Then I saw it, the Russian chef had picked up a steak knife and had held it up to his neck, pinning him against the wall. Now, I really don't like this guy but I couldn't just stand around and let him get killed. I ran towards the Russian and grabbed her shoulder spinning her to face me. I must have caught her off guard as her grip of the knife loosened so a grabbed it and pushed her up against the wall, knife hovering by my side. As I held her there I couldn't help but notice her utter beauty, her long blond hair was tied in a sleek low bun, she had such soft features and piercing hazel eyes that seemed to gaze into mine. I feel as though I should be scared but I felt a strange sense of security.
"Not too bad" she said to me, startling me out of my trance. In one swoop she grabbed the knife out of my hand and grabbed my neck spinning me around to make me the one pinned against the wall. "Still, I could kill you right now if I wanted", these words sent shivers down my spine, but it was kind of in a good way. By now Pete had well fled the premises. "Well" I said "are you going to kill me." She replied smiling, "I thought about it, but I think I would rather just take you back to my place."
I was shocked to say the least, but I couldn't help feeling kind of turned on. "Meet me outside the restaurant at 9" she said then turned and burst out of the doors in the same haste she had entered.
I couldn't possibly be considering taking her up on this offer, after all she had just come in and tried to kill my colleague. Yet there was something about her I couldn't resist.
