Prologue
Meredith Snow
"I'm in position and the targets have been spotted, what are your commands sir?"
Having heard all of this, I stepped out of my hiding spot and assaulted the perfectly positioned sniper. A powerful blow in the neck knocked him out cold, now how do I deal with this person speaking through this loud ear piece.
"Eliminate the boy first, backup has already been called to deal with the girl."
"Oh goodness me, what an elaborate plan you got there. Too bad you hired an amateur to do the job."
"I didn't expect you'd see through this as well, Meredith. But this is only the beginning for you and your puny friends."
"Friends?, I'm only doing this for him. I don't give a care if that girl makes it out of this or not, end of conversation."
I flung the earpiece to the ground and crushed it with my foot. Seriously, I'm getting sick of his games. Anyway, I gotta babysit this meathead again. I don't understand why he's head over heels for that girl, his life would've been better if he chose me instead. I picked up the rifle and looked through its scope.
Don't misunderstand, the only reason I climbed all the way up here was to keep an eye on my beloved. Never did I expect the sniper to be here as well, at least not on the rooftop of my house. What do those idiots have against him, my beloved is just-...
"What the heck is he doing?!"
Right then and there, I knew what I had to do. There had to be a change of plans, and luckily I happen to know a professional when it comes to things like this.
"You know you could've just walked a few blocks from your house to tell me this, sis." A calm yet rather aggressive voice responded to me on the phone.
"There's no time, you smelly donut. Just do it, something big is going to happen."
As the call ended, I looked through the scope again and I didn't realize that a smirk had already formed on my face. This is exactly why I fell for him, he's far from boring.
"Just die!, AHHHHHH!"
I smacked the neck of the rifle against the vengeful mercenary as he charged towards me. He fell on the ground with his nose bleeding from the impact of my attack. Now I'm really mad.
"It would've been better if you stayed down, you worthless peasant."
After that, you probably know what happened next. I kicked his lifeless body off and it came tumbling down on the lawn, splashing the grass with a terrifyingly red substance, blood.
What came next, was a huge explosion that almost blew me off. It was so powerful that the bridge collapsed once again. It looked as if it was sliced into two. Now that things are perfectly in place, the real fun is about to begin.
