tears streamed down his face, soaking his shirt as he kept his face down and walked silently by the busy streets.

"the patient has lost his memory, i'm afraid he'll be unable to recognize you, sir."

for a moment he had felt like punching the doctor, but he held himself back and decided to act moderately.

"i request you to not inform him about me and tell him a stranger brought him here from an accident."

"i apologize, but we cant do tha-"

"95000 won."

hyunjin laughed at how easy it was to bribe people, how humans will accept anything in the exchange of money. it was probably illegal to give false information to patients but money fixed it.

he didn't want minho to know him again, he lost 4 months of memory, exactly the period since they've been friends. he didn't know why, but he didn't want to involve in his life.

the doctors said minho will be able to revive his memory again, but that'll take at least 2 years. telling what happened within 4 months, pressuring him to remember would affect his mental health and he might become hyper.

so hyunjin decided, he won't go back to his life. he will leave, he will let himself fall apart at the memories of someone who doesn't remember him.

he felt like he was losing changbin all over again, the pain in his chest was intolerable, an invisible knife dug into his lungs, slowly being twisted in deeper and chocking him. his mind was screaming, his legs were giving up but he stayed silent as a mouse, he didn't let them see that he was almost gasping from the lack of breath and the shade of claret had taken over the white sclera of his eye.

he kept his head down and kept on walking.

a part of him hoped that fate will make him and minho meet again, when minho will remember him and jisung would there with him, happy and healthy.

but another part of him knew he was a transient moment of happiness that flew by minho and it would never happen again.
