The bright lights and beeping noises contributed to the tremendous pain I was feeling in my head. I sat up, and immediately regretted it.
"Alison! Oh, I was so worried! My mother exclaimed.
"Get away from me." I said in a low voice, clenching my teeth together. If I was ever going to turn her in, there was no better time than now.
"Ali Marie, I have down nothing but help you through this! The least you can do is acknowledge your own mother!"
"So shooting your daughter in the chest is helping?" I was completely out of breath by just saying a sentence, and my head continued to pound. Death had taken me down with him so many times, that I had gotten used to it, and was able to function without complications.
"Ma'am?" The doctor asked me, all of the sudden.
"Yes?" My eyes were focused on him, but I quickly shot my shooter a death-glare.
"Is this woman you mother or guardian?"
"Mother, I hate to say." I know I should love her, but really. Who can blame me for not?
"Has she abused you in any way?"
"Yes."
"How?"
"Well, she shot me a few hours ago, as you can see. But verbally and physically."
"You seem to be recovering awfully well. Why would you say?"
"I've had experience. Lots of experience." With that, he left to check my records, things like that. I hoped this case would go to court. Having to live one more day with the monster I called my mom, made me cringe.
Part of me wanted to believe that, deep down, she was a kind-hearted woman. But then again, part of me knew the truth. The truth that she was cold-blooded and would kill anything she could get her hands on.
At least, that's what she did to my father, anyways.
