"Alison.. Alison, wake up." My eyes fluttered open, where I noticed I was lying in an area that I found myself in too often. "Finally." Death snarled.
"What do you want? I thought I made my decision."
"You did. I just wanted to make sure you were fine with it."
"Yes."
"Well.." He looked at me with sad eyes, and I realized I've never seen him like that before. "I guess this is the last time we'll see each other." I shrugged and he turned so that his back was facing me. "Fifteen years I've known you. Starting with that little incident you had when you were two." He chuckled. "What two year old decides to jump off the top of monkey bars?" As he turned around once more, I was more than surprised when he leaned in and kissed me.
"What are you doing?!"
"Sorry."
"Ali, what are you doing?! You can't fall in love with him! He's not even real!"
"I.."
"I made you feel uncomfortable, didn't I?"
"Um, yeah. You do realize that you're not real, right?" He sighed before motioning for me to lean my head back. I was lifted into the air, and was headed towards an opening near the top. The closer I got, it became clear that my father was waiting at the top.
"Welcome home, Alison."
