A new, somewhat handsome, doctor walked into my hospital room. Upon first glance, I never would've have known him. But, when he turned around, I knew I had to have known him from somewhere. He and my mother talked for a moment, and, thankfully, the police came to put her behind bars. I wasn't sure where I was going to go, but if Death happened to be right, I was "running out of time." Perhaps I would see my father.
"Alison, you seem to be doing very well, for a girl who's died quite a few times.. You'll be released in the morning, and we'll see that you have someplace to go. Alright?"
"Um.. Yeah. That's good."
"Okay." He and I locked eyes, and in that moment, I knew exactly who he was.
Death.
And I'm not "assuming." The way he talked, the way his eyes shined, the way he smiled that devilish grin when I said something..
I guess he was right, because he wasn't there to "doctors on me.." He was there to take me away.
I was about to die for the very last time.
