Their  home was beautiful, it had been in their family for centuries. The house was fairly hidden from plain sight. No street signs would pinpoint its exact location. If you look carefully a concrete driveway where lush green shrubs lined up on both sides that shows you the way in. The entire compound is elevated one meter above street level surrounded by a two-meter high, terracotta brick wall. The driveway leads to a huge dark walnut wood and wrought iron gate. On the right side of it is a small but similar wood and iron pedestrian gate. Upon entering the main gate, a strip of trimmed fruit trees stands along the left side of the perimeter wall. A structure sitting on the far right corner of the lot will catch your attention. It was a three-storey concrete house with no visible roof looming like a stack of Lego blocks made of lapis lazuli in a shade of deep Prussian blue; our humble abode, Hera thought. In front of the house was an extremely large portico. Instead of the standard two pillars and a roof design, this portico is a row of ten simplified torii painted in bright vermilion red like the color of tomatoes. Hanging along the width of each torii are wind chimes of different sized cranes made of lightweight metal that play softly even with a breeze. The torii is covered by a translucent fiberglass roof, which allows subtle light to enter making the metallic crane wind chimes twinkle like stars. The portico is interconnected to a covered pergola on the right that goes all the way to the pedestrian gate. The house had twelve rooms, six bathrooms, a large living area, kitchen, washroom, library and both front and back porches.
They worked quickly to dust and get the place in a livable condition. It had been over three years since they have been here. The structure of the house itself was fine, it was the dust that made the house look and feel dead.
Ereny summoned a gust of wind and moved it through the house, taking all the dust with it, from the floors, window, furniture, everything.
“The dusting was taking too long.” Ereny explained as her sisters looked at her.
“I will go and get the yard in order, the garden is a mess.” Athena added.
“The rest of us will go shopping for food and other things that we will need,” Hera said. Now they would have to get the old car in the garage started.
Hera prayed that the engine would turn over. She did a little jig as the old sedan purred to life. Things were going fine here on Earth. They had spent the entire afternoon shopping. They replaced the old curtain with new ones, they replaced the sheets in all the rooms, now they were in the kitchen laughing and cooking.
This was now their home and while she missed Rhemus, she had peace of mind. She took a long sip of coffee and sighed, happy for a new beginning.
