Kevin groaned as there were flickers of light in front of him along with lines of code and text.
"Well that's promising... hopefully my body is....." he said as the optics connected and he saw the front shield smashed.
"Never mind... nothing was gonna survive that...." He muttered.
"Told you so." Said a familiar voice scaring him but he perked up as he knew who it was.
"FELIX! Oh thank god you're relatively ok! You're not mad at me about the whole brain into robot thing are you?" Kevin asked getting a small glare from Felix before he sighed.
"No, it was smart thinking... plus now we don't really have to fear dying per se now do we?" He asked sarcastically making Kevin chuckle.
"True, though we should check on our initial order." Kevin said quickly fixing the controls as they blinked back to life.
"Good thing the ships power source is guarded by a meteor shield." Felix said piloting the craft back to their initial destination and when they got close they saw what happened.
"Well we're too late... but by how long?" Kevin wondered as they drew near noting at least three other ships in orbit of the planet.
"However long it took those three to get here..." Felix said as they began their decent into a shitstorm of snow and ice.
"Holy fuck! I can barley see how close we are to the surface!" Kevin called out ducking down just below the control panel.
"Well I can't see shit either so we're gonna have to crash this peice of shit!" Felix said getting right beside his buddy and they both braced for impact.
As they slammed into the ground and pulled themselves out a bit of the remains of their ship they felt how cold it was and decided to grab the heavy winter gear they had packed which fit a bit larger now that they were robots.
"Better than feeling naked." Felix muttered as he began to head out onto the planet they were meant to try and help.
"Probably wouldn't matter but you won the bet." Kevin said looking around in the dark before hearing sounds of flying doom.
"Thanks but I think we're not alone on this wasteland of a planet..." Felix said covering Kevin's back.
"Not too close... our drone bodies have razor wings. And an injector tail..." Kevin admitted as the three figures circled them. "Just like them..." he said looking at them. Felix looked at his partner before looking up and his eyes widened.
"How many of those deconstruction drones did you make again?" Felix asked cautiously.
"Two, with the blueprints left on earth." Kevin admitted. Felix was about to go off but realized that it was probably for the best because of what happened to them.
With little time else to think about it the three drones landed and seemed to be inspecting them with puzzled and shocked faces.
"Uh, what do we do?" Felix asked drawing a bit of a blank since he was always better at casual normal scenarios.
"I have an idea." Kevin whispered before using his regular volume. "Name and designation please." He asked posing as a higher officer. Two stiffened and saluted.
"I'm deconstruction bot V sir!" The female one stated.
"I'm deconstruction bot N sir." The male one said his voice cracking a bit. The second one caught Felix attention though.
"Wait wasn't N an AI program you were running in your spare time?" He whispered to Kevin before repeating the same line to the last bot who glared at him as she followed the order.
"I'm deconstruction bot J leader of this team and who may I ask are you two?" J retorted.
"We're deconstruction bots K and F the original deconstruction bots." Kevin barked looking back at the snarky bot getting all three of them to gasp in shock.
"Holy shit you two are legends! It's amazing to see you alive after the decades of stories!" N said breaking the tension.
"Decades?" Both former humans mutter socked as their expressions crash for a few minutes trying to process the fact that it had been a long time Since they had gotten lost.
