Kevin was frantically trying to get into contact with either N or V as he flew over the woods trying to keep an eye out for Uzis telltale signs of her ability. Only to get called by Felix.
"Talk to me buddy!" Kevin said slightly on edge.
"She's *cough* too fast. Going after Lizzie! Licking my wounds... literally." Felix said.
"Thanks for trying bud." He said as he turned his scanner to heat signatures and flew down as he noticed three in the forest.
Felix was re-attaching his arm with his spit and grumbled about how unfair this idea was for him.
"I better be getting danger pay for this shtick." He said as he wiggled his now working fingers.
As Kevin landed he saw a suddenly appeared N easily manhandle Uzi and chuck her into the stratosphere.
"Jesus fuck!" He said watching the purple one "fly" off screaming. N looked at V annoyed and chastised her about antagonizing Uzi. She voiced her protest before N flew off.
"You saw her! I didn't cause that!" She said looking at Kevin who approached her to try and help repair her.
"Maybe not directly but you probably didn't try to stop it either." He said gently cupping her face. She huffed but let him check up on her and look her over before going to replace her injector. She blushed at the attention she was getting.
"Hey Kevin?" She asked looking worried.
"Yeah V? He asked looking at her in the display.
"I'm starting to feel like we're getting closer to something dangerous... and we may not make it out in one piece." She said as she started to hold herself.
Kevin gently pulled her to rest in his embrace making her blush and look up at him.
"That may be, but if I can help it you won't have to worry about that last part. I promise." He said before feeling a shock as his hand tried to touch hers.
She gasped a bit. "It happened again." She said shocked.
"It's the first time I experienced that... in the context of a possible relationship." Kevin said.
"Usually that happens during a crush or acting feelings of attachment or attraction." She said taking his hand feeling excited about feeling something again.
"Oh so it's like how you know you're in love." He said gently rubbing his thumb on the back of her hand.
"Y-yeah pretty much." She said feeling a bit hot under the collar before being interrupted by the other odd couple landing hard in the snow.
"Well I guess everything's back to normal-ish." Kevin said not letting go before he felt her kiss his cheek.
"We'll see about that." She said smiling.
