"Mom its not even that serious, your over exaggerating. I just wanted to see my buttercup first." My mom just looked at me with her eyebrow arched , tapping her foot on the floor.
"I'm not over exaggerating Taylor. The only times you ever come to see me is when you need me to watch Natasha. Its never just to see how I'm doing I don't like that." I had to take in a deep breath, she does this every time.
"Natasha go watch tv for mommy"
"Otay momma". She said as she ran away as fast as her little legs would take her."Mom I'm not trying to go through this, everyday with you. I only ask you to watch Natasha because your the only one that I really trust with her. I come at your beck and call when you need anything. I pay some of the bills in this house and I don't live here. So what problems can you possibly have?"
"My problem is you Taylor. Natasha has a father so, why don't you drop her off with him. Oh wait.... Because he always put himself first. Had you not slept with him, you wouldn't worry about having to explain to your daughter why 'Daddy' isn't around. This is what you have to deal with now. I'm going to continue to say it-"
"Bye Mom... Sasha come on baby !" I had to go because my temper might get the best of me. This is exactly why I choose not to tell her anything. She's just so damn judgmental. She acts if she's never done anything wrong in her life.
As I strapped Natasha into her car seat I , couldn't stop the tears that cascaded down my face. I felt Natasha's little hands wiping away my tears.
"Its otay momma." I couldn't help that giggle that came out. When I tell you she is my pride and joy I mean it. She's my little ray of sunshine, when all I see is darkness. I pulled out the driveway and I could see my mother looking through the curtains. I just brushed her off. As I turned the radio on Natasha's favorite song came on.
It might seem crazy what I'm about to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take a break
I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don't care baby by the wayBecause I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna doHere come bad news talking this and that, yeah,
Well, give me all you got, and don't hold it back, yeah,
Well, I should probably warn you I'll be just fine, yeah,
No offense to you, don't waste your time
Here's whyBecause I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happyNatasha sang her little heart out.
"Momma... Becwase I happy." I couldn't help but smile at all the energy she had. I drove towards the grocery store. I needed to get a few things for dinner. It seems like it takes a million years just to find a parking. Natasha will be eighteen by the time this lady pulls out. Slowly but surely I mad it inside the store. "What should mommy make for dinner?"
"Ooo mommy make popcorn." I had to shake my head on that one.
"What about enchiladas, after dinner we can eat some popcorn and watch a movie."
She shook her head up and down. When we finally made it home Natasha ran into the kitchen.
