Chapter 8 : Zero Pointer

"HUH?!"
(Y/n) yelled out helplessly as all the other students run into the battle field.

"Shit!"
They mentally cursed out their late response, running into the area, immediately looking for targets.

(Y/n) scans the area while running around the surprisingly huge fake city.
Then they think to themselves.

"I need to go all out so maybe I should."
They trailed off before letting their (h/c) cat ears pop up, along with their feline-like tail snaking out from their behind.

Standing still in an empty area, their ears twitch at the sound of metal.
A robot!

Using their quirk, they transform their legs into cheetah hinds before sprinting off to where the sound came from.
Zipping into a student surrounded by around 4.

The student was caught off guard, one of the robots were about to crush her with an arm before (Y/n) swoops in, kicking the machine's head with both legs, making its head fly off.

Keeping the student behind them, they use their quirk once again, transforming an arm into lion claws.
Then, shoving it into another robot, ripping the wires out to disable it.

With the cheetah speed they were able to continue the process with the other 2 robots.

How many points?
They lost count already.

"Are you okay?"
(Y/n) asks the girl who was lying on the ground.

"I think I sprained my ankle...-"

"Here I'll help you."
(Y/n) said while slinging her arm over their shoulder, helping her walk to a safer place.

"But your time to gather points!-"
She said worriedly while they just smile.

"Don't worry about ittt, it's the least I can do, take cover here until you're better alright?"
(Y/n) said while placing her down gently at the starting line.

The girl blinks confusedly, how did she get here so fast?-
As she turns back to (Y/n), they were once again gone.

"And this makes it- how many points..?-"
(Y/n) thought to themselves, pulling out another handful of wires, watching the robot deactivate and fall over helplessly.

How long have they been doing this?
It feels like eternity already.
Sweat beads rolling down their face while they planted heavily.

"Fuck. I don't even remember how many points I have."
They cursed out loud, catching their breath.

Then their ears twitch.
It's coming from...

"Behind..!"
They mentally screamed out while ducking down, a metal arm swinging past, barely smacking them.

"Fuck..! You robots are endless aren't you?"
They asked the robot, smiling tiredly at it with furrowed eyebrows.

With their very quick reflexes, they dodged every attack given by the machine.

Jumping over a low attack, they used their cheetah hinds and kick the arm down into the ground.
Once the arm was stuck, they land on top of it before kicking it in the head, making it fly off.

Heavy pants were coming from the teenager. They were really going all out on this and it's already taking a toll on them.

Then suddenly, the ground started shaking.

"Woah- they replicated natural disasters into this fake city too?!"
(Y/n) asked in shock, desperately trying to maintain their balance.

Then a shadow went over them.
Huh? Weather too..?

They slowly turned back and looked up.
A big... robot...?
Was this in the briefing?-

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAAAAT?!"
(Y/n) yelled out, eyes basically popping out while they gawked at the gigantic machine.

It was crushing everything in its way. (Y/n) then registers that the huge robot was walking towards them.

"HOLY SHIT!-"
They cursed out again, running away from the robot desperately.

Upon hearing the loud cursing and the sudden ground shake, other students turn towards the source and look up in horror at the big, apparently, Zero pointer.

"IT'S A ZERO POINTER!"

"THIS? IS FOR ZERO POINTS?"
(Y/n) yelled out in disbelief.

It was destroying everything.
... isn't that dangerous. Why did they build this thing.

(Y/n) glances back to see fake buildings toppling over. They can't help but think.

"What if they had real people in it.."

And so they started looking for an opening against this Zero pointer.

They want to attempt taking it down.
One, with the rescuing mentality.
Two, they want to see if they can do it.

Watching closely at one metal foot stomping onto the ground, they then ran towards it with claws out.
Clutching onto the metal while desperately digging their claws into it.

As they climbed up, bigger wires were visible at the joints. They turned towards the direction of the robot's route. No one seems to be in the way.

And so, they pushed their arm into the joint, grabbed a hand full of wires and ripped them out. It didn't completely disabled the robot but it did... something!

"I need to... get to the source...!"
They thought to themselves before using their cheetah hinds to jump higher, making climbing up onto the machine easier.

While they were at the robot's chest area, they used their whole body to pry open one of the metal plates protecting the weaker parts of the machinery.

And there they saw the power source.
With claws out, they held onto it and pulled on it with all their might.

The interruption of power made the robot's movements more static. Everyone looked at it confused.

Then, it came to a halt.
Body parts becoming limp and immobile.
Everyone was watching the robot closely when a figure that looks tiny from afar pops up from it, holding the power core victoriously.

Proudly, they started making their way down the scrap metal, sliding down some parts carefully.
Sure it was a Zero pointer but the experience matters!

As they made it to the ground, a student was busy staring at them in awe.
Not noticing the other huge metal arm, slipping off one of the buildings.
And falling straight to him!

Out of reflex they let go of the core, legs turning back into cheetah hinds as they sprinted towards the student, pushing him away from it.

A loud crash was then heard.
And (Y/n) felt a sharp pain on their right foot.

The metal arm crushed their foot, nearly crushing their entire leg but still.

All that could be heard in the fake city was a cry of pain and agony.
