Be My Hero (Deku X Reader)

Chapter 10 : First Day

A Sunday morning.
As usual during any weekend there they were, not being able to sleep as they sit and wait for the sun to rise.

The breeze was light and cold.
They thought it felt nice to feel it flow through their hair.

Eyes softening at the sight of the beach looking cleaner than how it used to be.
Midoriya worked so hard and it was very evident. Though it does make them worry about the fact he hasn't been answering any messages.

But all worries wash away when they heard 2 very familiar voices.

"(L/n)!"
Midoriya calls out to them with a big wave.

"Yo (Y/n)."
The other greets with a small wave.

"YOU TWO!! HI!!"
They greeted happily, hopping off the spot before running up to them.

"I've never seen you come here before, what's the occasion?"
They asked the acquaintance while he shrugs.

"I was walking, minding my own business until I spotted Midoriya."
He said while pointing towards Midoriya.

"And so he invited me."
He simply answers while Midoriya nods happily.

"Just to see the sunrise? Seems suspicious."

"You're the suspicious one. I thought you'd be passed out at this hour."

"To be honest when I first saw them here I thought of the same thing."
Midoriya admits while (Y/n) gasps in an offended tone.

"Why you-"

"Anyways, yeah there was also another reason I came."
He interrupts (Y/n) so that they wouldn't pounce on Midoriya.

"I wanted to know how.. were your results."
He said before turning away with a mutter.

"In. Person.."

"Ew I didn't know you could be sentimental."
(Y/n) said, earning a hard knock onto the head by the other.

Midoriya laughs at the two.
Their shenanigans felt like it came straight out of a cartoon.
But deep down he feels guilty.

Because he still doesn't know the other's name, he always wonders, why is it (Y/n) never seems to say his name?

"I'm going to count to 3, show a thumbs up if you passed or thumbs down if you didn't."
He said while pulling out his phone to record it.

It was a habit of his to record any happy moment. You could say it was his brotherly instincts since it was what he usually does with his own family.

(Y/n) simply shoots him a confused look. Thumbs up or down???
What were they, a kindergartener?
Probably.

"You know we can just say it right?"

"I'd prefer an easy and straightforward message."
He answers while holding 3 fingers up.

"3.. 2 aaand 1."
He counts down, a smile creeping up onto his face when he sees the two of them holding a thumbs up.

(Y/n) looks at Midoriya while the other does the same. Completely beaming at each other when finding out they were both accepted.

"MIDORIYA YOU GOT IN?!"

"I DID! I DID!"
He cheers out, unconsciously wrapping his arms around the other, bringing them into a tight hug.

"I'm so glad we'll get to go together."
He said softly, tightening his hold.

And with that,
(Y/n) short circuits.
Freezing in place while their face heats up.
