"WHERE ARE you taking me?" Kai led me through different various streets that I had vaguely recognised.
"It's a secret." He smiled and started leading me through a small forest which didn't have any pathway whatsoever. The sounds of twigs snapping was the only sound that could be heard.
Sunflowers. I saw sunflowers and I instantly recognised this place.
"The sunflower field," My smile grew wider, yes since it was November some sunflowers were dead but either way, I was exited to be here, "I remember this place."
"Glad you do, Rowan." Kai led out his hand and intertwined it together, he continues taking me through the field until we led ourselves up the hill.
"I'm getting teenage flashbacks, we were here dancing and singing." I walk around the oak tree and skimmed over the flowers just below me, "You also asked me to be your girlfriend here and we had our first kiss here." I laugh at the memory.
"You were nervous and asked Val how to kiss a girl, poor Valentina was clueless." I brought the memory back to Kai since his facial expression dropped in extreme embarrassment.
"She was not supposed to tell you that." He mutters and sat under the tree with his legs stretched out, I did the same and sat besides him.
"Well she did, plus that's actually adorable. 14 year old Kai asking his best friend how to kiss the girl he loves." I exaggerated and continue laughing, I was 15 at the time when he asked me out since I was born in November.
"It was all worth it in the end though, right?" I bit my bottom lip and shook my head whilst keeping a smile.
"Remember when we first found the place we were only like 5?" One day me and Kai found ourselves wandering around the neighbourhood until Kai got curious, it wasn't safe but all worth it in the end.
"I got mad because you started walking inside so I just followed you." I shrugged and played with the ends of my hair.
We did laugh for a little while with Kai's phone playing music in the background, It was only 10am yet the clouds had started moving away.
"So what happens from here?"
"I don't know," I sighed and shifted to face him, "you and I will be back at work, but one thing for sure is that I still want you in my life."
My words must of made Kai blush.
Adorable.
"I want you in my life again, and I won't let you go so easily now that I've gotten you back."
I tried biting my smile down again so I covered my face with my hair, Kai started laugh and place the strand of my hair behind my ear, "Stop hiding your smile!"
I screamed when Kai started tickling me to the point I started running away from him around the tree, "Go away Kai!" I yell and tried kicking the dry leaves towards him.
The feeling of to warm and open arms wrapped gently around my waist and lifted me up, "Kai let me go!" I laughed when we fell on the pile of leaves, we stayed like that until Kai turned to his side to face me.
We sat back on the leaves with my face being a shade of pink, I slightly shivered closer to Kai and grabbed his arm so I could stay somewhat warm.
"Told you to wear a coat or hoodie," He looks down at me with one of the most happiest smiles before taking off his hoodie and placing it over me, "I'd never let you freeze to death either way."
"What a hopeless romance."
"So tell me..." Kai started.
"Tell you what, exactly?"
"When did you realise you were interested in girls?" Kai asked me.
"Uh back in highschool, obviously I had broken up with some dick head then at like 18 I started dating this one girl, we didn't work out in the end but she'll forever be a good friend of mine." I moved closer to Kai so I could cuddle him for warmth.
"So how did you and Hunter meet?"
"It's no surprise if I told you I met her at one of Blanche's parties, I was 19 at the time and I was just so attracted to her." Kai wrapped his arms around loosely against my waist and shut his eyes.
"How come you guys didn't work out in the end?" Before I could even answer, Kai paused me by lifting his finger up, "Actually don't answer if you're not comfortable."
"I guess we were just busy to keep up with one another, like I continued flying over to England then the US." I sighed and placed my head on his chest, his heart was beating steadily.
"Did she know about me?"
"Yeah, she was the only one I told about you." The vibrations of Kai's laugh shook through my body, "I told her about our childhood, Germany, how we dated and how I you know...left."
"Remember the donkeys?" I instantly shot my head up and stared intensely it his eyes, definitely not expecting that.
"How could I? You always took me to them." True, on Thursdays we would stop at a different bus stop just so Kai could see them. He had some obsession for donkeys.
"Do you want to go and see them later?"
Of course, what's a stupid Question.
"Well yeah, what a dumb question Havertz." I lightly slapped his chest and placed my head on the crook of his neck.
Me and Kai laying on the leaves whilst cuddling? Fucking perfect.
...
"Rowan, wake up." Kai's long fingers combed through my hair, "I want to do something fun."
He started playing the same song we did years ago.
I stood up and practically tried to pull him up on his feet, "You are out of my league, all the things I believed. You were just the right kind, yeah, you were more than just a dream!"
The nostalgic feeling felt nice whilst we continued to dance around the tree, Kai held onto my hand and twirled me around whilst singing terribly.
"You're still more than just a dream, Rowan." The sudden movement came as quite a shock to me when he held onto my face.
Are we about to kiss?
