Names
I will start by the easier thing: names.
When creating an OC it might happen for you to struggle to find a good name. By that, I do not mean a killer nickname. I mean a legal name, like Lisa A. Ferguson (Please do not use that name. It is the name of my OC).
For the love of God, please avoid giving "Dalya the neko killer" as a legal name. No one is named like that!
There are a lot of websites you can use to find a good legal name (or killler name) for your OC.
Now, for the 'killer' name of your OC, please don't use something already used, like '___The Killer', '___Drowned', 'Eyeless___' or 'Homicidal___'....etc
Those are a few examples but I saw a lot of OC whose killer names were that.
You can find a name for them about something from their past or a comportement they have.
For example, my OC that I mentioned before, Lisa A. Ferguson, her killer name is "The Dobermann" because she is a security guard, and is often compared to a watchdog.

Things to avoid:
-Killer name that looks like/copying a Canon Character's killer name.
-Weird legal name like "Sparkle Kitten Princess."
-Already used names like "Jeffrey Woods"...etc...
-Avoid any random adjectives like: Insanity, Bloody, Broken and many others.
