Now, I will cover the backstories! This is the most important part of creating an OC but it's also the hardest part of creating an OC. This is usually the part I struggle the most with because I never have any idea of backstory. For starters I will humbly ask you to STOP with the 'bullied' and 'abused' backstory. This is literally the backstory of every creepypasta OC I've found. Like,,,, be creative?! A lot of things can happen to someone so don't stick with this cliche. Of course you can keep it but,,, idk,,, change it, think outside the box.
If you plan on making a tragic backstory, make your OC surrounded by people they like, make the tragic stuff happen because of them.
You can also make them start to kill because of something or someone. Give them a good reason to kill. Think of a realistic situation that could make someone snap and start killing. What would make you snap?
You can turn abuse into a better story than all the bad one creepypasta OCs are known for. Don't make the family of your OC abusive just because without any reason. Try to transform something overused into something creative.
I also suggest you make a limit to their killing. For example, if in their backstory there were children involved, make them unable to kill children. If they were in an abusive relationship with their partner, make them unable to kill an abused person. They aren't emotionless (unless they have a disorder making them unable to feel emotion ofc). They should still have an ounce of humanity in them.
Example of horrible backstory:
Dalya was abused by her parents since she was 6. She was also bullied a lot at school making her fall into depression. One day she snapped and killed everyone that hurt her and left her hometown to hide in the forest where she was never seen again.
Reason this is awful:
-Abused and bullied without any context or reason.-Suddenly going insane
-Killing everyone
-Literally not enough detail.
This looks a lot like Jeff's and X-Virus backstory for some reason??
Be creative with your backstory and try to not plagiarize an existing one, even if the existing one is badly written, this is still plagiarism.I hope this helped you. Next I will cover disorders!
If you want me to cover anything specific, feel free to suggest!
