Past regrets
~~~~~~Kiara's POV~~~~~~
I settled into my room unloading the few clothes that I brought. Walking into the bathroom I stared at my tired complexion, not even bothering to analysis the rest of me as I would normally. I undid my plaits and started to pull together small strands of hair back to create one of my signature looks.
Chucking on long blue dress and a short corset over the top a did a final check in the mirror and headed out into the hall.
The smell of farms and freshly baked savory swarmed the air down the candle lit corridors. A stone pattern covered the floor, a much darker different feel than Asgards bright golden tones.
I knocked on the door down from me, waiting for them to speak I lent my back against the door. Distant memories pieced their way into my thoughts; the victorious battles, the first battle I failed, when I lost control of my powers and my first time. So many positive things has happened here yet why is it all I can think of is the negative.
"Because, you dwell on the past to much, you need to let go and live in the moment," the door swung open making me crash onto the floor behind me -curse his mind reading.
"Such wisdom from one so mature," I sarcastically rolled my eyes as I stood dusting myself off.
"I assume they haven't arrived yet seeing as the castle is still intact and it's miserable self," Loki hinted the 'still intact' part towards me as he walked past, closing the door telepathically.
"Not that I know of, that's why I came to see if you or Thor knew anything."
We strode down the echoing corridors talking about nothing in particular, my hands mindlessly fiddling with the edge of my dress.
Loki glanced down, "Stop being so nervous you know how to handle yourself, besides you've got your big brothers anyway we'll probably just handle everything and you can cheer from the side lines," he acted out with hand gestures, before pulling me into a side hug putting a smug smile on my face.
How does he always make me feel better I thought to myself, "because I'm just that amazing," Loki replied smugly walking off.
"Stop reading my mind."
We made our way to a sort of living area, there were a few lavish red sofas decorated in fluffed up cushions. A roaring fire place stood on the back wall behind the large coffee table. Loki and I slumped down on the sofas continuing to talk as we rested from our long journey.
"So still no sign of them then," Thor walked in spreading himself out over an entire seat.
"Someone's late, what have you been doing?" I questioned, "just introducing myself with the staff."
"Oh for the love of God's Thor!" Loki shouted with a disgusted look on his face, "what?" I asked curious.
Thor glared back at him, "will you stop with this goddamn mind-reading."
I don't think I actually want to know what that was about so I just ignored them, "so when are the Beserkers showing up?"
"Father doesn't know, my guess is if they aren't here for tonight's evening meal they aren't coming at all," Thor replied, "it's possible they heard of our arrival and decided not to come."
"Hm, running scared," I mumbled. "So what your saying is we went on that grueling journey having to put up with fathers nonsense -all because Heimdall was 'to busy'- just for the cowards to not show up," Loki angrily concluded.
