i know what i said before. but im so numb rn i need a dissociative outlet.

Marius and Darius (that rhymed) stood at the counter of the bank.

it was well into the afternoon, Artem had texted small updates about Lukes progress. the area was fairly secluded from cell towers and internet, it was amazing that the person who called in even got a signal. but it wasn't impossible.

just difficult. especially with the pro-hacker high on pain medication and doing various medical procedures to help him.

the doctors tried to insist on his rest, but he promptly ignored them.

not a shock.

the teller was in the middle of retreiving files. Marius and Darius had been there for a while. and after multiple near-shouting matches with the owner, they managed to get wha thtye needed.

"what are we going to be looking for?" Marius asked Darius.

he was scrolling through his phone. Luke was able to narrow things down to a 100 square mile radius.

"its outside of the city, at least two hours." Darius said quietly.

"how was he getting to work on time then?"

"he's been going to work still?"

"i mean, he came two days and then left."

"he could've kept her at his house for a short amount of time."

"no i don't think so. we didn't find any sign that she had been kept there." Darius said.

"i see. then he really made a four hour round trip to work everyday?"

"hes dedicated."

darius and marius grew silent.

"what do we know about the property around there?" darius asked.

outside of stellis city, it would be somewhere with a lot of land, trails.

"most likely isolated houses of different price ranges. farms or ranches are most likely the popular build."

"so?"

"so we want to look at a ranchouse or farm, farmhouse type of place."

"do you know of any other properties he owns?"

"no. otherwise we wouldn't be here would we?"

darius glared slightly at the young man, and the bank teller came back with a stack of papers.

they were a couple inches thick, and stapled together.

"this is everything we have, from the moment he came here to his last transaction yesterday."

"he bought something yesterday?" Marius asked.

"not sure, but if he did its in here."

she handed the large pile to Marius, who thanked her graciously.

he looked excited as the two marched to the car.

at the same time they got a text from Artem.

"artem says to bring the documents to the hospital." darius murmured.

"figured."

Artem enjoyed hands on work, of course he would want to be the one to sort through these files.
