vyn tapped his pen on the pad of paper in his hands.

Artem had questioned Vyn about what happened to Y/n. and he had an elaborate lie set up so that if he did try to figure out what happened to her, he would hit a dead end.

for all intensive purposes, Y/n was no longer talking to Vyn. he told Artem that he took her to see Luke, took her home, and in the morning he received a text message.

'im really sorry Vyn, but i don't think i can see you for a while. im going to take some time off so i can deal with everything that went on. id prefer to be left alone for now, I've given my letter of resignation to Artem. hopefully we will see each other again.'

it was short, and sweet, exactly something she would text.

he even went into work looking more disheveled and tired than normal. just to sell the effect that hed had his heart broken.

and of course, resignation papers had been left at Artems desk. forgery was quite a beautiful thing, and Vyn had plenty of Y/ns signatures to copy off from. it was easy. he paid someone else to bring them by, interrupting Kiki on her way in from work.

"this is from a Y/n L/n."

she looked surprised, but took the envelope from him.

"thanks."

he nodded and walked off. and when Kiki read the letter she looked sad.

and sure for a time Artem suspected something was wrong. but the next morning. after giving Y/n a few text messages, he received a kind and short reply asking for space.

he understood, after all it was traumatic to watch her best friend die so suddenly.

Vyn was in the middle of work. he had thrown himself into it for the past three days. mainly so he didn't have to focus on what he was keeping in the basement.

he fell terrible. all he wanted was his darling to sit on his lap and admire him work, give him a small kiss every now and again and maybe nap with him.

why did she have to try and run?

but it was also his fault. everytime she upset him now, he lost control, he lashed out. he couldn't face her, because he couldn't face his mistake. hed hit her, choked her. it was more than rude of him, it was cruel.

his slender hands dropped his pen. she just needed to understand.

an idea popped into his head, he picked up the dictaphone, that he used to record his thoughts and paused for a moment.

if she knew what he said before they were together.

would she be happier? she must be having  hard time believing what he's saying right?

but he's not prepared to let her out of her punishment. he wanted to wait until the morning.

damn who cares.

he put the small item in his pocket, and rolled up his sleeves. he would make her some dinner, and they could have a talk afterwards if she was good.

he smiled happily to himself, almost ready to sing with joy. his lover would understand, soon enough.

(POV change)

how long has it been?

weeks certainly. definitely weeks.

her brain could barely keep her conscious. the cold and hunger seeping into her bones and making her shiver and shake. she wasn't sure what was worse. hunger, or the biting cold.
