the grass was wet, freezing, and slipper.

strands of hair stuck to Y/ns face, a thick layer of sweat dripping down her temples. her lungs rapidly moving, burning. her eyes danced across the golden horizon, the flaming sun dissapearing quickly, lowering the temperatures.

but she was warm.

the sticks and bramble in the forest scratched and clawed, bit its way into her skin. blood dripped from thorn marks, her ankle already swelling immeasurably.

but she couldn't feel it. none of it. none of the pain coursing through her body was able to be felt. the adrenaline had flooded her bloodstream, and it carried each of her steps.

her legs striding out in front of her, arms pumping, muscles straining to carry her.

she was free.

the past few days flashed in her mind, giving her more reason to move, to run.

those golden eyes. they sent a wave through her body, one of revulsion, hatred, love. his platinum hair, familiar cologne. all of it was ingrained and imbedded into her mind. she could never forget it. no matter how hard she tried.

y/n took a turn down the path. it had been carved out, probably after years of being used as a hiking trail. she didn't know where she was going. but it had to lead somewhere.

it had been 15 minutes. she was running as fast as she could, with no sign of stopping.

and Vyn was angry.

his fist was bruised, he had slammed it into the wall. a lamp was shattered, it was just a small portion of the wrath hed inflicted.

his hair was a mess, his golden eyes were wide and wild. his shirt was half way unbuttoned. why was she gone. why did she leave? she wasn't supposed to leave, she wasn't supposed to run.

he slammed his hand into the wall.

it had been 17 minutes. she was gone for not even twenty minutes and he had already gone completely crazy. he wracked his hands through his hair and tugged it roughly. he wanted to scream, but his voice was already so raw from yelling.

he stood up, dusted himself off.

she couldn't have gone far. no, ankle was hurt, and the woods would be slippery and wet. she would trip and fall. maybe she was stuck on a trail?

he hated the idea of her being hurt, it made him even angrier. but he couldn't be angry with her. he had set himself up for this.

he shook out his hands and composed himself.

he needed to find her before the morning. if she wasn't already coming back to him he needed to start moving.

(POV change Artem)

marius and Artems heart was pounding. what Luke had just said... was it true?

the door was wrenched open, as Marius dialed darius.

"what do we even say?" he asked.

Artem wasn't speaking. he couldn't speak. he couldn't believe it.

had vyn really tried to kill Luke. there was a chance that Luke had been delirious. that the drugs in his system were causing him to hallucinate.

but he had been so sure of everything.

and Vyns actions with charlie. the suspicious disappearance of Y/n. he couldn't take it.

for the first time.
