Chapter 2

George POV

As I walked with Clay towards the math classroom, I noticed he seemed troubled. "I-is something wrong?" I dared ask him. "Oh uh no, not really. I just forgot to study for the test." He sighed. "Do you wanna skip class?" He asked me. "What? Skip class?" I was confused. Did he actually mean it? Or was this just a joke? I've never skipped class before so it was a new thing for me.  "Yeah" Clay said. I looked up and into his eyes. He was telling the truth. I was afraid of being bullied and called a scaredy-cat if I declined so I said: "Oh sure" Clay just looked at me. "I'm not forcing you into anything its ok if you don't want to" he said with a soft smile. "No really it fine" I replied. "Alright " Clay said sounding cheerful. The two of us left the building. "This is gonna be fun!" Clay smiled. He looked like a child. I giggled. The two of us started laughing like idiots for no reason at all. This, indeed, was fun. "So what do you wanna do?" Clay asked after we both calmed down. "I don't know" I replied. "Hm. Maybe we can go.... Oh I know!" Clay exclaimed. He practically dragged me towards his car. "Where are we going?" I asked. "You'll see!" He smiled. As we entered the car Clay sat on nt the drivers seat and I sat on the passengers seat. Clay turned the radio on so it wasn't too quiet. "So where are you from?" He asked. "England" I replied. "Cool!" He smiled. "You are from this country, right?" I asked. He nodded. We both sat in comfortable silence before a familiar song started playing. Heatwaves. I liked that song. Clay started singing and I joined. Soon that singing turned into practically screaming the lyrics.

As the song ended we both fell into a fit of laughter. After we calmed down Clay spoke: "We're here." He gout out of the car came to my door and opened it for me. I giggled. I was never so close to someone in such a short time. As we both got out Clay led me to a large, breath taking felid full of flowers. "Isn't it beautiful?" He asked. "Yes" I replied. We sat there on the soft grass for a while talking. "We should head back." Clay daid staring at his watch. I nodded. I was sad to leave the place but I had to. "Thank you" I whispered to Clay. "For what?"  He asked. "Fpr taking me here" I smiled softly. "Anytime, Georgie" He smiled back. I giggled. We got into his car and started driving back. We still had classes to attend. I was happy to have made a friend in my first day. I never knew what lay ahead of us.
