Gaara X Reader

Gaara is really that bitch for me. I swear he's my favorite anime character of all time. I've been binging Shippuden and I'm almost done, Gaara really just stole my heart and he ain't giving it back. My future husband better be prepared to take second place.

Y/n made their way down the streets of the village, taking notice of many things. The little kids running around and playing, the old lady behind her small stand selling some kind of food, the nice couple walking down the street together seeming to admire each other more than their surroundings. The sight made Y/n display a small smile, thinking of the person she admired and loved more than anything. In fact, it's been a little while since they had been able to truly spend time together, being the Kazegage certainly wasn't easy and it didn't allow for much free time. 

Y/n soon broke out of the little daydream as she noticed a lady fall, the items she was carrying falling out of her hands and onto the ground along with her.  Of course, being the kind soul she is, Y/n immediately rushed over to the woman, making sure she was alright. 

"Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" Y/n asked, holding the lady's elbows as she helped her up to her feet. 

"Oh no, I'm fine sweetie." The woman said, giving Y/n a smile as she helped her collect the items that had fallen. "Thank you Lady Y/n." 

Y/n freezer at the title, her face breaking out in a blush. "O-oh, ah, you don't have t-to call me that." Y/n stuttered out. "I-I'm not, we're not, Gaara and I aren't married, there's no need to call me L-Lady." 

"Maybe so, but I'm sure you will be eventually. Most likely sooner rather than later." The woman said, chuckling slightly as Y/n got even more flustered. "Anyway, have a good day future Lady Y/n"

"I-" Y/n was once again going to retaliate, but it was too late. The lady was already gone, leaving Y/n with a flushed face for the rest of her walk. 

Y/n made her way to the Kazekage's office, planning on finally seeing and talking to her beloved boyfriend. The conversation she had with the woman had not left her mind, but she tried her best to push it aside for now. Y/n gave a small knock on the door, coming in when Gaara confirmed that it was okay. 

As she walked in she saw exactly what she suspected she would. the young man leaned over in his chair and working on whatever he had to get done this time. The bags under his eyes were noticeable and he looked exhausted. Now that she thought about it, she couldn't remember the last time Gaara came to bed with her before she fell asleep. And Y/n usually stayed up pretty late. 

"Gaara, baby, you need to get some rest." Her soft female voice spoke, aiming her words at the red-haired Kazekage as she stepped closer to him. "You've been working on this stuff for so long, you need to take care of yourself. This all doesn't need to be done right away." 

"Hello to you too Y/n." Gaara mumbled, glancing up at his girlfriend, ignoring her other comments as he looked back down at his work. 

Y/n sighed as she walked over and behind his chair, wrapping her arms around his shoulders from behind. She could feel him relax in her embrace, leaning his head against one of her arms. 

"You have to be exhausted love." Y/n said softly, kissing the top of his head. 

"It doesn't really matter, I have to get these forms signed so they can be delivered to the other villages on time." Gaara said back. 

"Gaara you still have three days before these have to be delivered, it's okay to rest." Y/n said, determined to get her lover to at least get a small nap. 

"I don't have time Y/n."Gaara told her, getting a bit more frustrated that she wouldn't leave him alone. 

Y/n sighed and decided to take a more direct approach. She leaned over and grabbed the pen out of his hand, ignoring his protests as she forcefully turned his chair around. "All you need to do is sign your name, put checkmarks in the proper places, fill out some questions, and write in possible places to meet right?" Y/n asked, placing her knee on his seat. 

"Um, yes?" Gaara said, questioning where she was going with this. 

"Then you let me do this and you go rest. I'm not asking, I'm telling you. All the folders I need for the information are here in the office and I can mimic your handwriting. It's not that hard." Y/n said, looking straight into Gaara's eyes with a hard stare. 

"Y/n-" Gaara started, but soon went quiet as his love narrowed her eyes at him. He knew better than to keep going. He knew she was just trying to help, and she had to be getting a little frustrated with how much he was working. It's not like he wanted to, of course, he wanted to spend more time with her. She was the love of his life, he always desired to spend as much time with her as he could. But, being the Kazekage required a lot of time and effort. 

"No, go." She said, it was a simple yet effective statement.

Though, that's why Gaara had Y/n around. She always made sure he was doing alright and would help him in any way he needed. 

"Thank you." Gaara said, getting out of his seat and letting Y/n take his place. 

"Are you sure about this Y/n? You really don't have to do this." Gaara said, giving Y/n another chance to back out. 

"Gaara?"

"Yes?"

"Get out." 

                                 ~Time Skip~

A few hours had passed and Gaara never knew a nap could feel so good. He hadn't realized how much of a shitty state he had been in until he finally rested. He could move his body without feeling achy. His eyes were fully open and aware. Thank whatever God was out there for Y/n. 

Gaara yawned softly as he made his way back to his office, wanting to see how Y/n was doing. He opened the door quietly, stepping into his office and closing the door behind him. "Y/n, how is going?" He asked, looking over at the young woman. He quickly shut up as he saw his girlfriend asleep, resting her head in her arms on the desk. She looked to be in a pretty deep sleep. 

Gaara chuckled slightly as he walked over, gently petting her head as he knew she wouldn't wake up. "Stupid. Why would you come and do my work if you were already so tired?" He knew that Y/n most likely wasn't sleeping as much. She has trouble falling asleep alone and probably spent a good amount of nights staying up and waiting for him to come home. "But it seems like I'll still have more work to do now." He mumbled, not knowing how long she'd been asleep. 

However, as he looked beside Y/n, he found that all his work for the upcoming meeting had already been done. Not only that, but she had actually completed other papers he was forced to set aside to do later. 

She truly was a miracle to him. She was someone who had come into his life and changed everything. Similar to how Naruto had done, but in a way Y/n was even more impactful in his life. He truly felt loved and adored by someone. Someone really cared for him, made him feel like he never had to change a thing about himself. He knew he had someone in his life that would be there for him no matter what may happen. She was the light of his life, almost literally. 

"I love you so much." Gaara said quietly, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "Future Lady of the Sand."
