Chapter 25, Carol's number

~*Ruv's POV*~

"Well, there is one more unknown number that I haven't checked yet," I said as I looked at my phone and left the chat. 

"Alright, can I check that one?" Whitty asked and tilted his head slightly. 

"Sure," I opened the chat of the last unknown number. "Here ya go," I whispered as I handed my phone to Whitty, and he looked at the numbers. 

"This is Carol's number," Whitty said as he handed me my phone. I looked at the text from Carol.

Hey, Ruv. It's me, Carol. Hex gave me your number earlier. I'm bored at work, and I thought I would text you, so you also have my number. 😃

Sorry for the random late-night text. 😓 I enjoy talking to my friends, but Hex ran out of battery, and Whitty isn't answering his phone. 😗😑😶

"Does she always use emoticons and emojis?" I asked as I looked over at Whitty with a confused face. 

"Yea, she does," Whitty said as he used the fork to eat a part of a pancake. I stared at him, and Whitty started to sweat as he put the utensil down back onto the tray. 

"Dads?" Lilac spoke up. We looked in the direction of Lilac's voice, and she was standing out of the bed. "Someone's at the door," She said. 

~*Whitty's POV*~

"Okay, angel," I said as I stood up, walked over to her and picked her up. I walked through the apartment to the front door and looked through the peephole. I saw Hex and Carol, Hex standing there, Carol was jumping up and down, then I saw Selever walk past. I put Lilac down before opening the door. 

"Hey, guys. What's up?" I asked, and I felt Lilac grip at the back of my leg. 

"For starters, why is there a hole in your door? Who's the child, and when did you guys get her? Who's the new demon neighbour, and when did he get here?" Carol asked as she looked down at Lilac. 

"The landlord did it, and I don't know why. Also, this is Lilac, my daughter, and we adopted her a few days ago," I said as I looked down at Lilac. She was staring at Carol while still holding onto my leg. 

"And my name is Selever," Selever spoke up, which spooked Hex and Carol. I looked up at Selever, and he was looking between Coral and Hex, who were looking at him as well. Selever seemed more energetic than the last time I saw him. 

"Since when did you get so energic?" I asked, and Selever looked up at me. 

"I'm not energetic. I'm chaotic, and I was tired and mentally drained last time we met," Selever said as he started to do a weird dance. The dance looked like what I saw a couple of kids in Halloween costumes doing last week. 

"Also, I'm going to be rapping against Roachy again, and he's going to be here any minute," Selever said as he was still dancing. 

"Roachy?" Carol asked. Selever stopped dancing and stared at her. 

"Cyan hair, short, has his unique language, bisexual," Selever said as he swayed from side to side. 

"You mean Kieth?" Hex asked as a question mark appeared on his screen. 

"Yea, yea, whatever other name you use for Roachy," Selever laughed. Selever's phone pinged, and he wiped it out in a second. "Roachy's down the road, so I should get to the car park," 

"W-What's rapping?" Lilac asked. Selever looked down at her before crouching down, which caused Lilac to hide behind my leg. 

"Rapping is a form of singing, and it can be competitive or for fun. Roachy and I are doing for fun," Selever explained. Lilac looked at him for a minute. 

"Can I s-see?" Lilac asked as she moved slightly out from behind my leg. 

"You want to watch Roachy and I?" Selever asked, and Lilac nodded. 

"Okay, let's go!" Selever yelled as he bounced back onto his feet.
