Aurora
"She isn't a hybrid," Rebekah states nervously to Elijah and Kol, Finn making an appearance as well. "What do you mean?" Elijah breaks the awkward silence.
"While Aurora was still in the womb, something attacked her mother and injected Aurora with a liquid through her mother. Automatically making Aurora the offspring of a truly evil being," Bekah slowly explains, being careful not to use the words I dread to hear.
Kol raises an eyebrow, "sooo?"
Rebekah sighs and looks back at me as I am now facing them from a distance but close enough to hear. I nod and cross my arms over my chest, scared.
Rebekah looks forward to her brothers, "she is a Demon Lords child. She has pure demon blood running through her, she isn't a hybrid because she is only one species that possesses attributes from vampires and witches, making it easy for her to just say that she is a hybrid. She is a demon in an immortal human body."
I cringe as the truth is spoken out. For a few minutes there is nothing but silence, so I slowly sink to the floor as the worst scenarios plague my mind. Rebekah turns to face me as my arms go limp at my sides, Elijah and Kol are staring at me with shock, disbelief and anger. Finn is looking at me with sadness. I look away as the pain of an oncoming rejection pangs my heart.
"Show us," Kol speaks up. I look at him again, disbelief is the only thing in his eyes now. "Show you what?" I ask, knitting my eyebrows together. "Prove to us that you are what Rebekah says you are, and that this isn't a joke," Elijah finishes for Kol. I frown slightly but push myself off the ground.
I look at Bekah, "go find Klaus please and explain it to him, then meet us at the opening." She nods and runs off. I look towards the brothers and motion with my hand to follow me. They oblige as I start walking into the woods surrounding their house. The deeper I go, the less chaos it'll bring.
"Where are you taking us?" Finn asks politely. I look over my shoulder at him and smile a little, "the further, the better."
We keep walking until a large clearing is in sight, Rebekah and Klaus in the middle. Klaus looks angry and sad as he stares me down. I look away as we break the tree line. I turn to the three brothers, "please stay at the tree line, I haven't brought out this part of me properly for a long time." They all nod but don't say anything as I walk towards the centre of the clearing. I nod at Bekah as she struggles to drag Klaus to the tree line on the opposite side to where Elijah and the other two are.
I stand in the dead centre and control my breathing as I realise how erratic it had become.
I look to Rebekah for reassurance and she just smiles at me with a slight nod. I smile and nod back, knowing she will stick by me, even if the others don't.
I close my eyes and reach down inside of me, to where I had locked away what I feared the most. Myself.
I felt the mental chains start to slide off as lock after lock is broken. I reach further and a burning sensation overcomes me as I reach the form of a thousand hells.
I whimper as sudden burst of hot and cold wash over me, burning up my entire body. I sense Klaus try and come to me.
I feel my human skin start to peel off as the black scales of my demon form push through. My eyes open painfully as my human eyes melt away and are replaced with pitch black orbs that see further than a vampires or a wolfs.
I feel my skull crack in two places as two small broken horns push through the edge of my hairline. My hair floats up as if gravity weren't a thing. My nails elongate into claws as each human tooth I had in my head fell out and are replaced with razor sharp teeth. After a few minutes of complete agony, everything stops.
I open my eyes and look around to see everything around me in a perfect circle, is burnt to black. I look toward Bekah and the others to see if they're hurt, but they're just staring at me in bewilderment. My body is hovering an inch above the ground as I make my way to Rebekah.
I smile as I notice she's beaming at me with pride. I glance to Klaus who stood beside her and stop moving in confusion. I can't read what his emotions are. I stay where I am until Rebekah is the first to move. I hear the crunching of burnt grass behind me and turn around.
Kol, Finn and Elijah are cautiously making their way to me as well. I smile as I lower myself to the ground and force my hair down around my shoulders again. I notice that there is a faint line of my tattoo on the black scales too. Rebekah, Elijah, Kol and Finn stop beside and in front of me with looks of confusion, interest, and pride split amongst them.
I turn my attention to Rebekah and notice that Klaus is still stood back. "He's processing, he wasn't expecting this so don't take it to heart okay?" Rebekah tries to comfort me. I shake my head, "I can't help it."
Elijah is the first to break the silence among the boys, "you look so.. different." I turn to him as he studies me up close. "Wanna feel?" I stick my arm out and the three men immediately turn into toddlers as they excitedly touch and prod at my arm and how it felt.
"This feels so soft for scales! What lotion do you use?" Kol enthusiastically asks as he pokes my bare belly. I control the giggle down as he continues to poke my ribs, back and forehead.
"You look beautiful," everybody stops what they doing as the cracked voice from behind me fills their ears. I pull my arms away from the brothers and turn to face Klaus who has silently made his way a bit closer to me. "You think so?" I ask daring to take a step towards him. He does not move, or even flinch as I take another. He simply nods as Bekah shoves me with a wink following after. I smile and face Klaus again as he nervously twiddles his thumb.
"Are you scared of heights?" I ask, walking towards him. "Ahhh, sort - WHAT THE FUCK!" I push a pair of wings that resemble a bats out of my back and grip him under the arms as I hoist him up into the air and circle around the clearing. "PUT ME DOWN! This is TOO HIGH!" Klaus is screaming at this point as I go higher. I laugh and make my way down to the others safely.
I set Klaus down gently on the ground and he goes to his knees and hands. I turn to Rebekah, "he sounded like you the first time I did that to you." She slaps my arm and laughs along with her brothers as Klaus cusses me out.
Elijah turns to me, "we accept you, Aurora, no matter your species, no matter your origin. You are our family, for now and forever. Got that?"
Tears well up in my eyes as I, slightly painfully, return to my human form. I nod and grip him in a death hug. He laughs as he wraps his arms around me. I feel weight be put over my shoulders before Bekah and Kol join in, leaving Finn to pick Klaus up.
I realise that the weight was a jacket and it comes to my attention that I am in fact, naked.
"Sorry, I couldn't remember if I lost my clothes or not," I say sheepishly. Everyone just laughs as we continue hugging, this time with Finn and Klaus included.
They didn't reject me, and I love them all even more.
