"I already miss summer break!" your friend Yeona uttered as soon as you stepped in the school's corridor.
Together you sauntered past the other students trying to get to your classroom.
"Didn't miss this place.." you mumbled so only you two could hear it. From close up, you could already make out excited fangirls cheering for the seniors.
"Bet you missed him." Yeona nudged your arm diverting your attention to the young man passing by you with his friend.
Your eyes lingered on his figure, barely able to move them elsewhere. His features haven't changed one bit since your last encounter.
"I haven't missed that smug bastard." you walked faster making your friend chuckle at your behavior.
"Come on! Everyone loves Park Sunghoon." she stated making you roll your eyes frustrated. "I don't."
For the moment, she quit teasing you as you arrived to your classroom. Nothing's changed, the same monotonous view and dull students.
You groaned sitting down on your old seat letting your bag on the side of the desk. "Guess it's gonna be a long day."
Students around you started talking to each other after not meeting in a long time.
"Omg you're soulmates??" someone at the back of the class exclaimed as a couple was smiling proudly. "I'm so happy for you!" you sighed turning to your seat.
Yeona got closer to talk to you "Those two couldn't stand each other until now, guess things change after you have that dream."
You hummed not really knowing how to respond to that. "We have months until we're turning 18 too so don't worry about it now."
She frowned at your reply "You're saying you don't want to meet your soulmate?" she placed her hands on her hips.
"Hmm love isn't really interesting, I don't think in that true happiness they bring you. There's many people who might fake it." she sighed.
"You're really difficult did you know that?" she stated making beam pleased.
Minutes passed since your lovely chat and the door opened once more. It was a new girl in our class.
Cheerfully paced to the center of the classroom and bowed politely. "Hello, I'm Oh Minjung, I just moved here so please be nice to me. I hope we will get along."
The corners of your lips curved in a repulsive smirk. You find it funny how just from a glance you can tell if you will like one person or not.
She was a no of course.
Some people started muttering things to each other after meeting the peculiar girl in front of them.
Someone made up the courage to stand up and ask about the rumor they heard about.
"Are you really Sunghoon's soulmate?" the question made your body stiffen making your eyes shoot to Minjung's face.
You've noticed Sunghoon since your first year of high school but never talked to him. You knew him well enough from just observing from afar.
The answer to the question rolled off her tongue with a tint of insecurity. "Yes he's my soulmate."
Yeona gasped quietly, alike the others but you stared at the newcomer dead in the eyes.
"She's lying." you whispered to Yeona drawing her attention to you. "What? How would you know?"
"People get agitated when they're lying, she looked around not making straight eye contact, plus..i just have a bad feeling about her."
Your friend glared back at the girl walking to her seat.
After the first class that you had with your head teacher, you walked outside in the school yard with Yeona.
"Y/n..look!" you turned your head to the entrance of the school and there was Sunghoon, his arm interlocked with Minjung's.
Both of them smiling brightly, talking to their friends. Your fists tightened and your heart clenched as your gaze followed the two partners.
"Still thinking she lied?" Yeona asked you with a worried look. You walked away from the scene heading to the bathroom.
For some reason, it irritated you seeing him like that with someone, the worst part was that you always thought you hated him.
Your bad luck was that you had to go past by them, you hurried but you couldn't help not to look at him.
For a brief second, you made a close eye contact making your heart skip a beat. Something felt odd but you didn't stop.
You didn't look behind you, but he slowed down, his eyes following you until you stepped in the school. He didn't know who you were but he felt the same thing.
A weak spark inside her chest, the moment you made eye contact. But he decided to brush it off as he continued walking and Yeona passed by him running after you.
Naturally, Yeona knew where you would run off to and she found you in the bathroom cabin with your headphones in.
You looked up to her and placed your headphones aside. "Why are you hiding in here?" she asked you with her arms to her chest.
"I'm not hiding.. the view is nice here, the toilet seat is more handsome than most of the guys here you know." she laughed at your excuse.
"Come on, we're staying in the classroom.. and don't you dare telling me you don't like Sunghoon! It looked like something died inside you when you saw them." she confessed making you fall more in your deep thoughts.
"Maybe I just got grossed out and I had to come here to throw up-" she smacked your arm making both of you break into a laughing fit.
