The Wedding

Chapter Seven

Alex wakes with a groan as she tries to sit up pain shoots through her and it feels like the wind was knocked out of her but she doesn't stop until she's all the way up and can now see Cat leaning against the balcony doors wide awake blue eyes watching her but Alex can tell she's not really there.

Alex manages to get her phone from the coffee table and call Kara telling her where she was knowing the blonde would be there in seconds she asked her to bring breakfast as well.

"Cat?" No answer "Catherine!" The woman startles blinking before her brows furrow "c'mere" Alex waved her over and the blonde slowly makes her way over the blanket trailing behind her "do you feel any better?" Cat mumbles sitting beside the brunette head tucking into her shoulder "yeah a little only hurts when I move" Alex's arm snakes around Cat.

By the time Kara and the others got there Cat had fallen asleep head in Alex's lap the blanket she had was now draped over her, the brunette had the tv playing lowly hand unconsciously running through blonde hair.

Alex had made sure to text Dani to grab her key for Cats place when she came since the door was locked and she'd forgotten to grab it that morning before she left and that was the woman's only way in she'd say if Kara and the others got there before her but she knew the balcony doors were also locked.

"Hey, should I lock the door back or just leave it for the others?" Riley is beside Alex in mere seconds and cuddling up to the woman "leave it it'll be fine."

Dani fired questions knowing what to ask and how to ask it and Alex wonders how she'd managed to find someone who understands her like the group does in such a small amount of time "do you know how long it'll take before your able to move around without being in any pain?" Alex shrugs.

"Hopefully in a week I'll l have to see a doctor to know for sure how long it'll take before I'm back on my feet and healed enough to be out helping the others" Dani nods looking over the brunette again then just looking at the three Riley tucked under Alex's right arm and Cat sleeping soundly the woman looked small and relaxed.

"I thought you said this place was small?" Alex chuckles "I've been around Cat for so long I've gotten used to her saying it's small you know...to her this is small to us this is big she's lived in penthouses for so long she thinks my apartment could be her bathroom" Dani snorts and Alex only shrugs.

"But I think she wants to find a smaller place to live since it's just her she's been dropping subtle hints that she's looking but other than that she won't talk about it" Dani knows what Alex means about Cat not talking about it but before she could answer the door opens and the others file in.

"Yeah walk in like you own the place like your not the guest here" Alex scoffs the other woman's brow raises and Alex smiles sheepishly "again Cat.." Dani chuckles the others though look at her surprised.

"It's just Cat rubbing off on her" Alex looks offended and it makes Riley laugh at the look she sends her mother.

"So Alex how ya feelin?" Nia asks making herself comfortable on the floor "I'm fine hurts a little when I move but it's healing on its own and quickly due to magic but it leaves a light ache for a couple of minutes other than that I'm okay."

The others don't voice their concerns but look Alex's bandaged form over with worry.

Two weeks later Alex was moving around like nothing happened but there were times where she'd need to sit out on missions or training because of her ribs aching or she had found it hard to breathe but other than that Alex was okay.

"Danvers" she looks up from her phone there was a woman standing in the door smiling softly she waved her over.

They took some tests and Alex despite hating being poked a prodded sat quietly.

"So Alex...we found something intriguing well it seems the traces of magic left in your system is well- how do I put this" Alex frowns and the woman stands nervously.

"Well it seems your body absorbed the magic and well your more than healthy any problems you've had with past injuries are all gone everything's back to new it's like Hygieia personally endowed you."

Alex blinks "you're saying I have magical organs? Does this mean I can't get hurt? Any side effects?" The woman smiles "yes I'm saying they're magical and yes you can get hurt but it will go away in seconds at least two or three minutes so what I'm saying is your kind of indestructible see watch."

She takes a needle and tries to penetrate the skin but instead the steel only bends and Alex doesn't feel a thing after a second and suddenly there's wonder in her eyes "wow I have to tell Lena about this!" The doctor grins "well I'll let you do that but do makes sure to come back for your next appointment it's nothing serious just to see how your body is reacting after settling in with the magic taking over."

Alex left heading straight to the tower where Lena was she'd texted her on the way over with a simple 'new project' and immediately Lena responded with the celebrating emoji making Alex chuckle.

"What's up, Alex?" She grins handing over her papers from her check up earlier green eyes skimmed the papers with furrowed brows "wait so your insides are magical now?" Alex nods and there's a sparkle in Lena's eyes that tells the brunette they'd be doing some experiments today.

"Hmm, that didn't hurt?" Alex shakes her head "no maybe the first time but I don't feel it anymore" Lena nods "let's see I mean with your drinking problems I'm surprised your heart is in perfect condition now your liver seems to be reborn" Alex snorts.

"Hey, J'onn said you guys were still here" They look up and give a smile to Nia she curiously walks over "ooo~ whatcha doin" Lena moves over to give Nia a better view "her blood cells are like little supergirls I mean it took almost two hours to get a blood sample finding that only a special titanium can penetrate."

Nias brows furrow as Lena holds up a titanium knife which looked nothing like the ones in stores "where'd you get that?" Lena smiles sheepishly and Alex suddenly is interested in whoever was texting her "well..you know this titanium is only made in the history books but we called in a favor- and no asking who!"

Even though she had more questions Nia narrows her eyes and nods "fine but I wanna know what you two have been doing all day looks so cool" they share a look "deal" they say and Lena goes on to explain the reasoning for all their newfound interest and research.
