"Dude, are you okay?""Aidan!"
"Hello? Are you there?"
"Quit shoving!"
"Watch out, G-"

Aidan gasped for air as his head jolted backwards.
"Aw, come on. You've made a mess."
Aidan's eyes focused on the person standing in front of him.
"Seriously, I can't trust you down here alone. You're 17 for crying out loud!" She scoffed and turned her back.
Just his mom. As annoying as always.
"And you're 2 and a half hours late for school." She sighed. "What am I gonna do with you, kid?"
Aidan's heart rested.
"I don't know what happened. I was reading the letter over again and I-" He stopped.
"What letter?"
Appalled, Aidan's head looked towards the counter were the letter had been placed last.
"The-" He looked at his mom and back at the counter. "It was there and I read it and I sat at the kitchen table and I must've fell asleep and I-"
"You worry me, Aidan." She stared at him. "Get the table cleaned up. You drooled everywhere."
He watched her walk away in utter disbelief. Was all of that a dream? No. It felt too real. The letter is real. Everything that has happened thus far is true. Then who? Who was yelling?
