October 2nd, 5:30 AM.

Shuffling had been heard from 17 year old, Aidan Greer's bedroom. With a soft thump, a blue weighted blanket had hit the floor. The alarm clock blared as the brunette yawned, his palms gripping the air. After his eyes adjusted to the light creeping into his room, Aidan snoozed his alarm and shifted to his bedroom door. He snagged a hoodie from his bedside table and headed downstairs.

"Good morning, Addie!" His green eyed sister happily shouted.

She giggled as she set her spoon into her room temperature oatmeal. He yawned and sat beside her, rubbing his eyes vigorously. His mother cleared her throat and instantly received Aidan's full attention.

"This was left on the table." She cocked an eyebrow and looked at her son.

He didn't know what to say. Was she mad? He grabbed a loaf of bread to the right side of him and carefully untwisted the tab in silence. Aidan prepared himself for her response and gazed back up at her, bread slices in hand.

"I think you should go." She smiled whilst setting the letter on the table.

He coughed and set the slices of bread down on a napkin.

"You want me to go?" He tilted his head. "There?"

She nodded in response, taking the slices of bread he had laid out and putting them in the toaster oven. He gently snatched the letter from the table, examining it once more. He wondered what had caught her interest. It looked like a bland old letter to him.

"Alright, Mom." He rolled his eyes slightly. "I'll go."

It didn't take much convincing. He didn't have any friends in the school that he was in at the moment. It'd be a real experience, that's for sure. Aidan and his family had just moved into town so they weren't fully settled yet. The school also granted dormitories to its students. He thought that'd be fun, as well.

"I'll be right back." He blurted out as he ran upstairs into his room.

As he closed the door, he thought of who he might meet during his new school experience. He hummed to himself and looked out of his open window. Hesitantly, Aidan reached into his closest and snatched up a few old blankets. He successfully tied them together and let the thread go limp out his window. He carefully tied the polyester rope securely on his closest door. Grabbing his hood and pulling it over his head, he crept out into the fall wind.

"I wonder what's got her all riled up." He scoffed as he launched a rock across the road.

He shoved his hands inside of his pockets and walked off. As he shifted down the road, kicking more rocks as he went, he came across a park. He smiled dimly and entered the bronze gate. Aidan loved how the tree before him swayed within the breeze. Weeping willows were always one of his favorites. They seemed to calm his nerves somehow but he'd never actually tell anyone that. It was far too embarrassing to be shared upon others. He turned his back to the tree, rocking backwards. The bark scraped along the backside of his hoodie as he sunk to the dirty ground. Aidan rested his against the wood and hummed to the tune of the songbirds.

"Is this seat taken?"
