He barely registered the taste of the tomato broth as it slid down his throat. Taking a long swallow, he braced himself for Gong Jun's explanation.
Gong Jun similarly took a deep breath before he began. "Reba-jie says I shouldn't deny myself a chance to find happiness, now that I am almost 30 years old."
He knew that he sounded lame but he could not help it. He did not know how to broach the subject. So he decided to jump straight in. Frankly, if it wasn't for Dilraba and her encouragement, he would not have considered this. After all he had always assumed that this was not an option for him.
Xu Feng wore a bemused expression. "So you want to get into a relationship because Reba told you so? And how does she know you are meeting me?"
Gong Jun gave him the summary of how Dilraba and Liu Yu Ning figured out his Qi Xi date, and Dilraba's nosy but goodnatured advice.
Xu Feng mulled over Gong Jun's explanation. He had a feeling that it wasn't the full story. "And what do you think, Junjun? Do you agree with what Reba said?"
"Well, after thinking about it for a while, I think she has a point. Fate has brought us together again after 5 years. And I am no longer that naive kid from before. I think we should give it another try. If it still doesn't work out, at least we know that we have tried."

Xu Feng stared at the tofu bobbing away in the broth for a long moment. He was sorely tempted to just go along with this reasoning, but he knew that he had to clear up the doubt in his heart.
"Is it something to do with Zhang Zhehan getting a boyfriend?"
Gong Jun swung his head around and stared at Xu Feng with his mouth agape. Xu Feng swivelled his head around to meet his stunned gaze. He felt his heart sink. "As expected, it really has something to do with pretty face Zhang."
But Gong Jun merely blinked and asked. "Just how many people know that he has a boyfriend? Has he been going around announcing it? Unbelievable..."
"Huh?" Xu Feng shook his head and attempted to explain. "Listen, Junjun, don't get angry and take it the wrong way, but Zhang Zhehan called me to tell me that your CP was off, and to apologise for coming between us."
"I know. He told me about that." Gong Jun smiled gently at Xu Feng. "I just did not expect him to tell you that he has a boyfriend."
Xu Feng stared at Gong Jun for a moment, not knowing what to think. He knew that the story was not yet finished. He picked up the ladle and scooped up more broth into his bowl.
