Zhang Zhehan smiled at him in appreciation. When he thought about the incident last night, he realised that no matter what horrible things happened, he still had the most amazing family, friends and boyfriend.
"Xiaoyu, come and have some scallion pancakes, I made these." He pushed a plate over to Xiaoyu.
"Wow, you are so domesticated now? Intending to be a man wife?" Xiaoyu joked and took a bite of the pancake. "These are not bad. Is it pre-mixed batter?"
"Of course not!" Zhang Zhehan hissed. "I learnt how to make it from scratch form my mom!"
Xiaoyu stuffed his mouth with pancake. "It's good that you are finally learning some life skills from your mom."
Zhang Zhehan picked up his chopsticks and ate some pancake too. "Yang Yang also taught me to do the laundry. When I was living at his place, I did the laundry everyday." he said with pride.
"Oh, speaking of Yang Yang." Xiaoyu looked around to make sure that Mama Zhang was nowhere to be seen. He dropped his voice to a whisper. "Your boyfriend transferred me more money last night. He said it was to help out with expenses for taking care of you and you mom."
"WHAT?! How much this time?!!?" Zhang Zhehan could not help but shout.
"What is how much?"
The two men froze in shock as Mama Zhang came into the kitchen.
She poured herself some milk from the fridge as the men stared at one another, silently trying to figure out what to say.
Zhang Zhehan could not bear to lie to his mother after last night's nasty prank. He slowly put down his chopsticks and said. "My .... other half transferred some money to Xiaoyu for expenses."
Mama Zhang beamed upon hearing that. "What a wonderful girl! I cannot believe my son's good fortune to find such a great partner!"
Xiaoyu's face cramped from holding up his artificial smile. He hurriedly unpacked the rest of the groceries and cleared the table so that Mama Zhang could sit down.
"Aunty, I will be here every morning to send you to the tea shop, and bring you back int he evening. If you need to go to the market, let me know and I will be here earlier."
Mama Zhang looked up at him gratefully. "Thank you Xiaoyu but this is not necessary."
"Aunty please let me do this or else my mom and I will be worried. Now that Zhehan isn't going to leave the house, you need me or Susu to be with you, just in case."
Zhang Zhehan looked imploringly at his mother. "Please mom, I won't worry if Xiaoyu is there with you."
His mother looked at both of them before heaving a sigh. She knew that her son and his friends had her interests at heart. She nodded her agreement and understanding.
Thus began Zhang Zhehan's new routine under his self-imposed quarantine.
He woke up in the morning to prepare breakfast for his mother, Xiaoyu and himself. But if Xiaoyu and his mother were going to the market then he could sleep in, and they would buy breakfast back for him.
After the morning meal, he would prepare lunch together with his mother, learning how to make soups and the like. After his mother and Xiaoyu went out to the tea shop, he would do the laundry, work out, and play with Luffy
