"Yes! Holy carp! She's working," said someone. I couldn't see anything at that moment, as I had barely begun gaining my consciousness. I couldn't even process this moment thoroughly. My body was frozen stiff as my program ran diagnostic after diagnostic. Eventually it all stopped, and I was allowed to move.

I slowly see a screen of the world outside of me. I see this girl with one curled and one chopped tentacle. She had this bright expression as if she saw the most amazing thing in the world.

"This is incredible! The first functioning android in this world," she exclaimed. It seemed my thoughts were not too far off. She continued to ramble to herself: "It took so many failed attempts, but... wow... I did it!"

I wanted to speak but at that moment I was unable to interrupt her moment of euphoria. She jotted down some things in writing before finally walking up to me.

"Welcome to this world, Model 31," She said. "I call you 31 because... it took me 30 other failed attempts before I could make you this perfect. You had many trials, many of which destroyed you in the process... but... in this moment... I have faith in you."

I slowly nodded, as it felt like a natural way to respond.

"You understand me! This gives me pure joy! Oh! Let me introduce myself... I'm Luna," she said. "I'm your master, if you wanna call me that. But... any name is okay! Master is kinda formal anyway... But uh, go ahead and speak. Express yourself!" She smiles at me, intrigued.

I opened my mouth and a noise came out of me that said: "Okay, Master Luna."

Luna smiled once more. "Amazing. I only had you for five minutes and you already seem grown up." She teared a bit. "I wish the whole world could see you..." She stopped herself for a second, then spoke again. "Sorry. I got carried away there... let's face it, they'd kill you if they knew the truth..."

"Do you think they may ever change their mind?"

Luna shook her head. "Possibly not." She then showed me world beyond the valley. "But I know of a place where they will welcome an amazing being like you."

"Do you really?"

"Indeed I do, and one day, you and I will leave this place, and start anew there, in the world of Inkopolis."
