That's how our last day of the fifth semester happened, but, I never knew it's going to be the last day for someone too. My winter break's going to be awful as I'd be the only one in my home all day. Ishani's going to her grandparents' home after three years. She asked me to come along but I refrained as I'd get to help my mom in the home chores at least in the break. My mom asked to accompany her to work one day and I got all bored as I'd nothing to do but watch all the hustle and bustle of the crowd. So, I quietly moved to a corner and plugged in my earphones.
Tomorrow's the last working day of our college. I just don't know if I should be happy that there'd be no exams forever or if I should feel sad that I'd never get to see the college or Shri. Being the last day, there are quite fewer classes going on. All my classmates suggested we should play a game or something. "Not truth or dare this time", someone shouted. "Yeah, A big NOOOOO!" almost all of us screamed in unison. A guy from the last bench came up with an interesting idea that everyone should write a message on the board without mentioning it to whom the message is to. "WOW!, Okay, this is good!" everyone agreed as we liked it.
The game started with funny messages slowly turned to anonymous ones, jokes on each other, it's going all too well, until it's my turn now! I've no idea what to write, but I just know that it's about Shri. Too much confusion, I just got onto the dais, quivering with a marker in my right hand. One look at him, I turned to the board, mustered up all the courage I've ever had in me, and scribbled "I"LL MISS YOU" in bold. All my classmates woo-hooed at once. My cheeks have gone red and I never blushed as much as I did in my entire life. I dropped the marker on the first table and took my seat. I've been trying to steal a glance of him, but all the boys in his row got in the way. I suddenly heard "SHRIYANSH" from the chits they've been using for random names. HE stood from his place ar once, looked at me, REALLY? DID HE REALLY LOOK AT ME NOW!?? A dramatic pause, he picked up the marker, wrote a word, moved a little to the side and stood smiling at me. He added 'to' to "I'LL MISS YOU". 'I'LL MISS YOU TOO". The moment I saw those words on board, tears rolled down my cheek, the harder I try to see those words, the blur it gets. I never imagined this moment to happen. He's smiling with those cutest dimples and began walking towards my seat.
"Hey! Why are you still asleep Aditi!!? Why do you want to be late even on the first day of the new semester!? God! I've my head of the department's class on the first hour, i beg you Aditi Get ready quickly! Wake up Aditi!!"
"Huh!" I woke up to my astonishment. Aditi has just come home to pick me up to college.I looked at her with a blank expression.
"Don't tell me you're still dreaming of him yaar Aditi!"
"Come on! As if I had a chance", I shrugged smiling."Just tell me Aditi! Didn't you really think of confessing to him about your love?"
"Oh! A zillion times Ishani. I just don't want to talk to him without him having interest in this. I never thought he had interest in me as well. So, yeah!""So complicated. Thank god, I never had someone to feel this way! Someday, I will, i guess", she giggled.
"Ok, let's get ready!"
With as many hopes as I got to the college, I didn't find him anywhere. All I heard was Shri came here a few days ago to pick his transfer certificate.
