(As usual friends, the art is not mine, I'm not taking credit for it.)

“Really, Error, I think you would be better off for it! You could at least try!”

Blue had been going on about this for weeks. Every time we’d hung out he’s been bothering me about trying to “make more friends”.

“I don’t need more friends Blue,” I muttered, “I’ve got you and I’m content with that.”

Blue huffed. “Not that I’m not flattered, but I think you should have more friends. It’ll be good for you to meet some new people. Plus, then you’d have someone to spend time with when I’m not available! I worry about you spending all that time by yourself in the Anti-void,” he added, pouting.

I sighed. “Where would I even find someone who would be willing to be friends with me? I’m not exactly popular around the Multiverse.”

Blue tapped his chin thoughtfully. “What about Outertale? You like that AU. Maybe you’d find a person you like there too!”

“No,” I shook my head. “Outer barely puts up with me hanging around there, he’d throw a fit if I tried to talk to anyone, and then they wouldn’t want to talk to me anymore.”

Blue rolled his eyes. “Well yeah, that’s why you’d have to be sneaky about it until you befriended them! Duh! Then, once you’re already good friends, they’ll be more likely to fight back against Outer and keep being friends with you!”

I blinked a few times, then laughed. “Are you really telling me to sneak around behind Outer’s back in his own AU?”

“Yeah, now you’re getting it!” Blue crossed his arms triumphantly. “He can’t throw a fit if he doesn’t know you’re doing it!”

I shook my head, still laughing. “Sometimes it’s hard to believe that you’re a Star Sans.”

Blue shrugged. “Just because I’m a Star doesn’t mean I’m not above bending the rules if it’s to help my friends. Besides,” he added, “what Ink and Dream don’t know won’t hurt them. And Outer too, for that matter.”

“You’re not wrong, I suppose,” I said, “I’ll give it a shot if I get the chance.”

“Awesome!” Blue beamed at me. “That’s the spirit!”

I wasn’t actually intending to put any effort into it, but If I acted like I was I’d at least get Blue off my back about it. I appreciated Blue being concerned about me, I really did, but I didn’t want to keep hearing this. I knew there wasn’t anyone who wanted anything to do with me, other than him, of course. I was perfectly happy with how things already were.

But knowing Blue, he wouldn’t let it go until I went along with him, so I humoured him, both for his sanity as well as my own.

Ugh, but he’d be checking up with me about it often, too. I didn’t really want to have to make stuff up, that was more effort than I was willing to put in. I’d just have to keep telling him an opportunity hadn’t come up yet.

Just as that conversation ended, Stretch arrived, casting a threatening look in my direction on his way into the kitchen. I glared right back at him. Blue frowned, upset as he always was by the hostility between me and his brother. He didn’t say anything though, since there wasn’t any actual argument this time. Despite that, I got up to leave.

“That’s my cue to head out,” I said, ignoring Blue’s disappointed expression. “See you later, Blue.”

“Bye Error! Stay safe!”
