[(Y/N) POV]

"So lemme make sure I've got this right;"

I pressed my palms together and pointed at Error with my hands.

"You were spying on me to make sure I wasn't crazy, and Sans caught you, which is why he's been acting weird. When he showed up today, you panicked and accidentally kidnapped me, which went directly against the plan you had, which you had because Blue, who is Sans from one of the other AUs, was worried about your mental health."

Error nodded, not looking up from his hands.

"Okay so… we could just- take me back?"

He glanced up at this, brow furrowed.

"And have Outer throw another tantrum and lock you up forever?"

"He's not gonna go that far. Although, we do need to get around him somehow. Maybe we could go to Pap about it. If Pap's behind it he can't do much about it."

He seemed surprised. "You're actually doing this?"

    "Doing what?"

"Trying to get around him. To keep being my friend."

I stared at him in disbelief, before shaking my head.

"You are way too surprised by this. Yes I'm gonna keep being your friend."

"Even after what Outer told you?"

"You seem like a logical person, I reckon you've got a good reason."

"Literally nobody has ever called what I do logical."

    "What about Blue?"

"He's friends with me despite my 'destructive impulses'." He made air quotes around the last phrase.

I sighed. "I think you're making this out to be a bigger deal than it is."

"You literally don't even know what you're talking about."

"Ok but you're a cool dude. You spend your time making puppets and watching a telenovela, for fuck's sake, how bad could you possibly be?"

He chuckled, then sighed. "I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted."

"Let's go with flattered, for my sake."

He sighed again, this time a longer, deeper sigh.

"Okay. The long and the short of it is, I destroy AUs. Which, subsequently involves mass genocide. I usually do this alone, but sometimes I receive assistance from a gaggle of idiots who are called the Bad Guys, or the Bad Sanses, depending on who you ask, and when."

He looked up at me, and after a moment of silence I realized he was waiting for a response.

    "..So you kill AUs."

    "Yes."

    I thought about that.

    "Ok, so hear me out,"

Error looked taken aback. "Wait you're actually doing this-"

"Yes," I cut him off. "I am doing this. I said I would do this, I'm doing it."

Besides, I ain't got much to lose.

"ANYWAYS, as I was saying, multiverse theory, right?"

"Yes," He seemed dubious. "I know what multiverse theory is."

"Yesyes, so, if universes are constantly being generated with every decision every person makes- "

"There's a bit more to it than that, but yeah."

" -then subsequently there needs to be a constant source of destruction of said universes."

He didn't respond for a second, bewilderment evident in his expression.

    "You're crazy."

    "I'm right!"

"You're reaching to try and justify it."

"These are your actions we're talking about!"

"My reasons are entirely selfish!" He seemed to be getting annoyed now.

"Just because your reasons for doing it are selfish doesn't mean it's inherently bad!"

Error was correct; I had been reaching for justification, but now that I had it I knew it made sense. I was fleshing it out in my head as I went.

"This is ridiculous!" He was shouting over me at this point.

"Why are you arguing with me over this?" I asked, exasperated. "You went so far as to try to sneak around behind Sans's back to befriend me, and now it seems like you're trying to convince to not be friends with you!"

"What- I- " He sputtered "that's not what's happening! There's just no logic in what you're saying!"

"There is too! I just didn't get to that part! There needs to be constant destruction of AUs to balance out the constant creation of them!"

I crossed my arms triumphantly, as Error stood, finger in the air, trying to come up with a counterpoint. After several seconds, he dropped both of his arms down to his sides.

"Well damn." He muttered. "That's the exact kind of poetic bullshit I would expect from this bullshit multiverse."

    "Uh-huh?"

"Okay, fine, that checks out, but that doesn't change anything."

"No," I agreed, "but it gives me a foothold in an argument with someone about being friends with you."

He blinked. "Oh. That was kind of the point of this conversation wasn't it?"

"Yeah!" I grinned at him. "See! This is totally doable! And if push comes to shove I can just tell Sans to piss off."

He nodded quietly. "Okay." He looked over at me, suddenly suspicious. "You're sure you want to go through with this? You're not trying to trick me or something?"

I sighed. Who hurt this guy? "Yes, Error, believe it or not, I've actually enjoyed hanging out with you, and I'd like to continue to do so. There's no trick."

"Besides," I added, "there's literally nothing I could get from fucking with you, even if I wanted to."

"Okay." He seemed to be comforted. His stance relaxed, and he put his hands in his pockets. "I guess the only other thing is… how to go about putting you back?"

"Hm. Could you just like, leave me at my house and let me deal with it?" I didn't fancy having to have that conversation on my own, but I felt like having Error there would set Sans off. "That might be a better way to handle it, considering Sans's opinion of you."

"Yeah," he sighed, "you're probably right. He'll be more likely to listen to you If I'm not there."

There was a bit of a pause. Then, Error's mood seemed to lift.

"Well, since you're already here, we may as well chill for a bit. Outer's gonna be pissy no matter what." He walked over to the lone beanbag chair sat a few feet away and plopped himself down on it.

"UnderNovela?" He asked, pointing at the ground a little ways away from his seat. I sat where he was pointing, relieved that the mood was better, even if it was an abrupt end to the conversation.

All that was left to figure out was Sans. And that couldn't be too bad, right?
