Me and Hayley run to our lockers and grab our jackets, then dash out the door into the frigid winter air. My breath makes little puffs of white as we hurry down the road, trying to get back inside as soon as possible. Within a minute or so, Hayley is running into the warmth of her house. Once inside, her face appears in the window and smiles bye. Waving back at her, I head further down the road towards my place. I wander along the road, kicking at bits of sticks and rubbish lying on the pathway. Only when I am a few houses away from mine do I look up. And my heart starts pounding with fear. How the heck does Malcom know where I live?!?
He's standing in the little sheltered alcove the doorway of hedge provides, half hiding in the shadows. He hasn't seen me yet, so there's a chance I could slip around the back and get inside without him noticing me. I decide that's probably the safest option. Too bad I stepped on a twig, which snapped under my weight. Shit. Malcom turns his head slowly as a smile appears on his face. I decide to make a run for it.
Down the road, through the side alley, into the little tiny hole in the fence thats in my neighbors backyard fence. I collapse, exausted from both my flight and the fact that I ran into Malcom outside my own house. The hole is too tiny for Malcom to follow me through, so I should be safe.
But he's bigger than me. He can probably just jump straight over the stupid fence. This makes me jump back up and run.
Run.
Run.
Where am I going. Not sure.
Quick, decide..........Hayley!
With a new burst of speed, I leap through backyards and the gaps between houses until I get to my besties. Without even bothering to knock, I let myself inside the back door and lock it. Calming my breathing, I trace the familiar route up to Hayley's room, taking slow steps. After bursting into her house un-invited, I thought it best to knock, at least so I didn't scare her.
A frowny face peers at me whilst its body opens the door, and lights up in surprise when she recognises me. I'm surprised that it took her so long, but when she drags me inside and plonks me in a chair in front of her mirror, and then I see why.
My hair is a mat, braided now with bits of leaves and twigs. My face has a bit of dirt smudged on it, and my (eugh) brand new clothes have mud all over them and are slightly ripped in several places. I blink dumbly at the mirror.
Hayley's foot tapped impatiently as she waited for an answer. Brought back to earth, I tell her what happened. She gasps, "Oh my gawd Gen, if he's coming to you now you are sooo screwed!" I grunt, "You don't say?"
She studies my face for a moment or two, "You'd better stay here for the night. I'm scared he'll climb in your window or something stupid. I don't want you on your own." Ha! I'm friggin scared of that too. But staying at Hayley's is way better than staying at mine, so I'm certainly not complaining.
*Malcom's POV*
My smirk dropped as I watched Gen run away. Although I'm not complaining, the view from behind was great. My sexy little girl was running away from me, just taunting for me to catch her and pound her into the sheets.
I follow her, intent on catching her and letting my fantasies come to life. Damn she's fast! Just another little thing which makes her even more appealing. She runs through the side alley and disappears into someone's back yard via a small hole.
Shit. I was so close to having her. I decide not to jump the fence, seeing as it was old and crumbling, and I did not want to risk having to pay for it, so I used my logic.
Who is the person she trusts most? Ahhhh Hayley!
I've got you now Gen...
