*Gen's POV (a dream)*

I'm underwater. I can't breathe. The surface is right there! But I cant break it. I'm pummelled around by waves. Time passes.

An arm wraps around my waist and lifts me past that unpenetrable barrier. I cough and I splutter and finally rid my lungs of water. Then I look up. Malcom Pontes stands before me. I shriek and scuttle backwards, but I'm too slow. He kneels down beside me and holds me in place. His voice is amazingly kind when he speaks. And it scares me.

"Gen, you have to be with me. I saved you, and you owe me. You can't walk away with that hanging over you. You can't run forever. Eventually you have to stop."

I jump up. "I haven't stopped yet."

Now there's trees. Bushes. A pond. A tree-house is in front of me. I clamber up the tree but find Malcom sitting inside the house. I turn to run, but there's another Malcom behind me. He pushes me back inside.

I wake up screaming.

*Malcom's POV*

I watch as my beautiful angel sleeps and I can't help but feel exictement at the thought of her sleeping next to me, in my bed, not Hayley's.

Soon Malcom, soon.

I take great pride at my self control and settle back down, preparing to watch over her though the rest of the night.

Gen starts to move and thrash the air, which causes a wave of anxiety to sweep over me. Just as I'm about to pull the window open and calm my sweet girl from her nightmare, Hayley wakes up and in turn, wakes Gen up.

Damn you Hayley, I can save my girl from any nightmare. I should be the one comforting her now, not Hayley.

I watch as they sit for a while before they fall asleep. Here's my chance to get the girl of my dreams. I try and slide the window open but Hayley appears to have locked it. Urgh, when me and Gen finally get together, Hayley is going.

I bump my head against the window accidentally, causing Gen to wake up.

From the other side of the window, I watch as she screams for Hayley. Just the sound of her screaming turns me on, I can't wait until she's actually under me screaming my name.

Hayley grabs a bat from the bedside and approaches with a murderous expression on her face. Fuck, time to run. As I run, I promise that Gen will be mine.

*Gen's POV*

Our cheeks are stuck together. I jump up, scattering the blankets but expecting Malcom to come through the window. I calm when I see the first rays of light, which means its dawn. I'm confident he wouldn't stay up that long. Hayley groans and pushes herself upright. Just one look in her eyes sends me into a fit of crying. She embraces me and I'm bawling my eyes out on her shoulder. We stand there for a long while, until I'm cried out and calm. We're both so tired, I really don't know how we'll survive the day. That's how I crack.

"HE'S SUCH A DOUCHEBAG!!!" Hayley blinks and shuffles herself like she knows what's coming. Of course she knows. Its happened a lot. After several minutes of raging and indulging in many fruitful swears, I'm too empty to do anything but sit and stare at my hands.

Hayley knows better than to push it. And if she gives me a look of pity, I swear I'll punch her, however much of a good friend she is. So instead she gets up and digs around in her wardrobe until she finds a small stack of my clothes that I stashed here ages ago. she has a similar stash at mine. She finds a nice, light green blouse with tiny blue flowers on it and a short-but-not-too-short denim skirt. She lays them out on the bed like I'm a kindergarten kid, and leaves the room. Probably to go get breakfast for us.

With a grumble, i heave myself up, and dress in the clothes. Then I plonk myself back down right where I was. She eventually comes back in with two bowls. She almost sighs when she sees me. Her gaze is unnaturally hard, like she's trying to conceal her emotions from me. Well, good, because the softball bat is sitting right next to me. "Gen." I don't answer. I've had enough of talking. "Genevieve Ellen Forner!" Grudgingly, I lift my eyes to hers. Her voice is kind when she responds.

"Gen, I know its hard. But you have to go. He'll just come looking for you if you don't turn up at school. It's better this way." Of course it is. I knew that. I'm just being stupid. Hayley purses her lips and sighs. "I'll buy you an icecream if you come."

Crap. That's my weakness. But I still have to consider it before jumping up. "Deal. But it has to be a double." Hayley groans but nods.

I grab the cereal bowl and gulp it down so quick.

The whole day actually passes without remarkable incident. Hayley refuses to leave me alone at all. She walks me to my classes, picks me up and stays totally by my side in every class we have together. I see Malcom a few times in the corridors, but he just smirks at me. I want to punch him so bad. But I'll wait. For the perfect opportunity.

We head out to the ice cream parlour after school. Its stupid, but even in winter, I think icecream is the best thing ever. Hayley gets me a double cookies and cream with choc chips whilst I keep watch.

For my stalker.
