A/N: I'm so sorry...
TW: blood mention
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Agent C's POV:
There was no bodies.
Since Wilbur and Q left, there's been none. It's weird. It's like the killer is scared. They're hiding out. Lurking. Watching.
Today was a slow day. Since there's been no bodies to examine, doctors have been going home.
Sleeping in their own beds.
Isn't that crazy?
I'm lonely.
Since I've started going home I've realized that. No wife. No girlfriend. No kids. No dog. No cat. Just me. Plain old goopy me. It's sad really. I'm 28 with no nothing.
My house is empty. I'm rich but poor. How is that even possible?
I rest my keys on the dining room table to hear the odd clink of the metal hitting wood. It was magical but unfamiliar.
I yawn. I'm tired.
I take off my lab coat and automatically head to 'my' bedroom.
My in quotation marks because it doesn't feel like my own.
I am really sleepy. Tired out of my mind.
So tired I'm imagining a man in black standing in the corner of my room.
wait.
I scream.
I am not sleepy. The man is real. He moves. I run.
When I make it to the front door, the keys won't budge. But didn't I just use these a second ago?
A towel covered my face. It smelt of a familiar sickly sweet smell. I immediately knew what it was. I tried to escape, but it was too late. I had fallen asleep.
I woke up tied to a chair. Why didn't I just stay at the base? I had nothing at home anyway.
The man was there. He wore a mask with a smile on it. Unsettling. He held an axe. I was dead. About to be murdered by...
"Dream?" a voice squeaked. My voice. I hadn't realized I wasn't gaged. I shuddered. Did he want to hear me scream before I die?
He just nodded as if I got his name right. Funny how the case I'd spent years on solving was going to be the death of me.
I couldn't see. My eyes were blinded by tears. Dream came closer. This was it.
"Are you going to say anything before you kill me?"
He paused. Then he lifted his axe up in a chopping position.
"Your head will look nice with the others."
Then he swung down and all I saw was blood.
