Zoya pov.
"I woke up early as I needed to visit Afreen and go with her for a check-up as she is five months pregnant. She is one amazing friend. At first, when I met her I could see the fear in her eyes yet I couldn't understand why and I didn't want to ask so I waited for her to tell me. When she spoke about it, it brought tears to my eyes. How can someone be so cruel but at least Farhad is with her so everything will be okay. She is happy and that is all that matters.
We are now at the hospital and I'm waiting outside for her. Soon she came out and didn't have that smile that she used to which is scaring me.
We were walking when we heard a child crying and a nurse was trying to console her. Not holding myself I entered and noticed the child was around 5 to 6 years
"What happened?" I asked the nurse making the child look at me with her swollen tearfully eyes.
I couldn't control my emotions as I love children and I can't see her in pain so I rushed up to her taking her into my arms.
"What happen baby? Why are you crying?" I asked.
Afreen was also rubbing her back."My my Abba slapped me because I was insisting on having chips, she sobbed making me feel bad for her. It made him angry. He doesn't love me anymore. For the past 4 months, he shouts holds me responsible for everything. Before he was so loving and caring. He always laughed and played with me, he use to take me out," she cried and started breathing heavy.
"Sweety, breath in and out. Calm down," I said as I helped her drink some water.
"What is your name?" I whispered
"Nasiha," she replied wiping her tears and moving her hair from her face.
"That a very sweet name for a very sweet girl. Now Nasiha, tell me why doesn't your Abba want to give you chips?" I asked.
"Mam. She has a hole in her heart and her condition is getting worse. Her father doesn't have enough money to pay and soon he will be taking her out as his medical aid is going to cancel" the nurse explained.
"I know I won't live. I'll die soon. That's why I wanted to eat some chips," She said with trembling lips.
"Nasiha. Meri Jaan. Do you want to die or get better?" Afreen asked.
"I I wanted to live because my Abba has no one but now that he doesn't love and care for me I don't want to live. I rather go to Allah," She sobbed.
"Doll don't say that. Allah will want you to live and give you a long life. Maybe then your Abba will be happy and maybe your Abba loves you a lot and he stressed on how to save you that's why he is shouting at you," Afreen explained as she held Nasiha in her arms. Soon the child fell asleep and Afreen laid her and I covered her.
"Nurse. Is the no heart available for her," I asked?
"There is but not enough funds," the nurse answered.
Afreen then asked where is her doctor and soon after the doctor entered.
"How is she?" the doctor asked.
"She seems okay so far," the nurse answered.
"Doctor. What are the chance of her survival if she has the operation," Afreen asked?
"70% as the heart is a perfect match to hers," the doctor replied. Are you'll family?" he asked.
"No, we were passing by and heard her cry."
Next moment the machine started beeping.
The nurse all rushed in and asked us to leave.
We both were worried and waited.
