The boys are sitting in the hospital's waiting room and they have been for about half an hour. They are all masked up with hoods on in the hopes of not getting recognized. They had gotten some looks, but nothing more than that.
They are here because the oldest of the group is going to have some tests done. The past few weeks, he had been feeling nervous constantly, getting irritated by the tiniest things. His heart sometimes feels like it is going to beat out of his chest, while he's sitting on the couch. His hands are often shaking, like now, that's why Namjoon is currently holding his hyung's hands, trying to get him to calm down as the nervousness is taking over him again. His muscles feel weak as he sits on the chair, but that is nothing that hasn't been a frequent appearance in the past few weeks.
So, now they want to know what is going on, because their already skinny hyung has lost even more weight without even trying to do so. A little more and he'll be all skin and bones and that's the last thing they want.
Finally the doctor calls his name and his eyes dart to the source of the loud sound. It made him even more nervous as he didn't know what was to come. Five of the members stay seated, wishing him good luck as he and the leader follow the doctor into a room.
The clinically white room makes it look bigger then it is and the horrible smell of chlorine is quickly getting onto Jin's nerves. The only thing he wants is for this all to be over with, so he can go home and lay in his bed, cuddled up in a blanket, preferably with at least one of his brothers to make him feel calm, comforted, loved, cared for and cozy. He just wants to feel the warmth of their embrace calming him and comforting him. Is that really too much to ask for? Do they really have to go to the hospital? He's probably fine anyway, but the others insisted on him going.
The doctor starts with an EKG to see if it has anything to do with his heart. The result, it doesn't, but his heart is beating faster than normal. The doctor chooses to do a blood test. When the results get back, they hear the diagnosis, Thyrotoxicosis. Now they just have to do a lot of test to find the cause.
Seokjin sighs as he hears the news. He just wants to go home. So, more tests. While waiting for the doctor to prepare, Namjoon switches places with the sunshine of the group, hoping he will be able to make the older feel better. It also gives him a chance to explain the current information to the others. As the two wait for the doctor to come back, the younger hugs his hyung and starts telling funny stories. In no time, Jin's mood completely turned around. A bright smile decorates his face as his precious dongsaeng does his best to make him laugh.
A few minutes later, the doctor walks back in, a small smile appearing when he sees the scene in front of him. Sadly, he has to interrupt. The two males quickly avert their attention to the man and follow him into another room. After the tests are done, the two are sent back to the waiting room, awaiting the results. The maknaes are now the ones that are on cheer up duty. Sitting on either sides of the older, they make sure he is comfortable before bombarding him with love and affection. So, lots of hugs, compliments, jokes, funny stories and crackhead culture later, they make space for the second oldest to have his turn.
Without saying anything, Yoongi drapes a blanket over the older, hands him one Bluetooth earbud and puts the other in his own ear. Turning on some music, the two relax into their seats and enjoy the beautiful sounds that enter their ears. They sit their for another half an hour before they finally get called.
Hoseok once again joins the older into the doctor's office. The doctor explains the cause and the course of treatment that they chose. He prescribes the needed medication and sends them home.
Finally, in the comfort of his own bedroom. He sits down on the soft mattress of his bed, thinking about his day. Oh, how thankful he is for the other members. He often questions what he did in his past life to deserve these six men as his precious younger brothers. They'd do anything to protect him, to make him happy, to cheer him up when he's feeling down, to comfort him in difficult times, to encourage him and so much more. And he'll happily do the same for every single one of them.
Speaking of the crackheads, seconds later he gets pulled out of his thoughts by someone tackling him to the bed. Before he can process what's going on, three maknaes and a ball of sunshine are cuddled up to him.
"Did you take the medicine yet?" The leader asks, who is sitting on the edge of the bed, softly chuckling at the sight.
"No, can you hand them to me, please." The younger gives him a pill and a glass of water. He takes them and swallows the medication before giving the glass back to the rapper.
"You should rest. It was a long day, you're probably tired." A soft voice says from behind him. Yoongi, him is sitting on the other side of the bed, slowly starts to come his fingers through the older's hair, lulling him into a peaceful sleep.
