"Are we sure this is a good idea?" Jimin asks he glances out the window of the car. He watches all the people walking around, before focusing back on the coffee shop he'd be going to.
"Do you have any better ideas?" Taehyung asks from next to him. All seven members had gotten into the car - using the extra seats in the back of the car to fit them all - and driven all the way to the coffee shop where Jimin would meet her.
"Do you want us to stay until you're done or comeback?" Yoongi asks from the passenger seat, glancing at Jimin through the side mirror of the car.
"I don't know. I'm not even sure this is a good idea." Jimin says honestly as he feel his heartbeat accelerate with more time spend in the car.
"No. This is a great idea. No go. We will wait here for you. So just go." Jungkook says from behind Jimin, who sighs and nods in acceptance.
"You got this." Namjoon says encouragingly as Jimin covers his face with his mask, before getting out of the car. Quickly shutting the door behind him he walks towards the coffee shop with his head down, not wanting to be recognised by anyone.
As soon as he's inside, he takes a look around and bites his lips as he searches for her. Jin had said he'd received a text from her saying she was already here, so all he had to do was find her. It didn't take long until he did. She was sitting at the far back, typing away on her laptop with a cup next to it. He takes a deep breath before making his way to the counter to order.
"Hi. What can I get you?" The server asks, making him list his order and they nod, letting him know they'll bring it to him, before stepping away to make his order. With one last deep breath, he makes his way to her table. Seeming to notice his presence, she glances up and his heart skips a beat as he watches her eyes widen in recognition.
"Hey." He breaths out softly, feeling like his heart will explode from nervousness.
"Jimin?" She looks at him in bewilderment, as if she couldn't believe her eyes.
"Can I... can I sit?" He asks as he nods towards the chair in front of her. Without hesitation she nods and closes her laptop.
"What are you doing here?" She asks in shock, making him sigh.
"I know it may sound messed up, but Jin set up this meeting so I could see you." He says honestly, making her take in a deep breath. "But I really needed to talk to you. I haven't been able to stop thinking about you for the past month and I just needed to see you. I'm sorry."
"Don't." She says, making his eyes widen in panic. Was she going to get mad at him for forcing his way back into his life? Did she hate him for the pain she'd gone through while dating? "Don't apologise. I'm happy to see you."
"What?" He gasps out, his eyes widening even more, making her chuckle.
"Don't look so surprised. You're not the only one who was madly in love. And you were my best friend, not having your around was really hard. I missed you." She says honestly, making him smile under the mask. It pained him to hear the past tense when talking about their love, but just the fact that she'd missed him was enough.
"I thought... I thought you'd hate me." Jimin admits and she shakes her head.
"No. Never. Why would I hate you? You've done nothing wrong." Maeve assures him and a frown settles on her features. "This whole time did you blame yourself for what happened?"
"I did." He softly, making her shake her head at him.
"No. You did nothing wrong. It was not your fault. If it has to be anyone's fault it was mine. I wasn't able to handle the pressure and secrecy. But all of that wasn't your fault. Don't ever think again that it was." Maeve says firmly and he feels tears burning his eyes.
"I... I can't do this without you." He blurts out, making her eyes widen. "I know it's been two years and you've probably found someone better. But I can't keep pretending I'm not still madly in love with you and that I don't need you."
"Jimin... I don't think I can be what you want me to be for you." She says softly, looking down just as the serve comes with another cup for her and Jimin's drink. With it comes a pastry and when she sees it, her heart melts.
"I got you your favourite. If it still is your favourite." Jimin says after clearing his throat once the server was gone. He could feel his heart tightening as her last words kept repeating in his mind.
"It still is. Thank you." She smiles happily. Her smiles drops again as the tension of where they left off the conversation comes back. "I... how about for today we just forget about the past and catch up, like two old friends who haven't seen each other in a long time. And then on another day, in a more private place we can talk more about this?"
"Okay." He nods in understanding. He couldn't deny the fact that talking about this in a public place wasn't the best idea. She takes a piece of paper and writes her number on it.
"Here. I know Jin has my number and could easily give it to you, but just in case." She says as he glances at the numbers put together to form a phone number. He smiles at the fact that she wrote her name with a heart under and he also realise that she hadn't changed her number.
"I still have it." He admits, making her look up in disbelief.
"I still have yours, unless you changed." She says with a warm smile, after overcoming her shock. He shakes his head and smiles happily at the thought.
"Still the same."
